There was something truly different about this bar. Y'all, I've never been to a bar with such kind staff. The front door guy actually treated me like a human! He was lovely! And the bartender was so chill even though I was dumb and offered my card (cash only). I ordered a ginger ale and it was only $2 and came with a lime in a glass. Most bars in the city charge 4-5$. Absolutely great experience here.

Herb (owner) is a madman. Punk bar. Lots of fun. Kiss karaoke around Halloween every year. Home of the band Beer Nuts.

Came here for years in my 20’s. Came back as a 40 year old and it still rules. Great bar, great music. Jeremy is a great bartender. Chicago staple.

Best sounding joint in the Chi. Chicago’s only fez tavern" The Liar’s Club is one of the most unique Chicago clubs and one of my personal favorites. With its red-lit, black painted gothic interior, the Liar’s Club is a hit with those of you who like Delilah’s and the Lincoln Tap Room but are looking to dance or see a band (a recent addition) and pick up. The joint is also reputed to be haunted, because of a woman who was butchered on the premises, and Joe Walsh is reputed to have lived upstairs prior to the Liar’s Club. For the faint of heart, be forewarned: as one of their ads proclaimed, the Liar’s Club is a place where, "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy," (Obi-Wan Kenobi to Luke Skywalker prior to their foray into the Mos Eisley Cantina on Tatooine in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope).

Rolled into Liar’s Club with my buddy last Saturday, dropped about $35 on two draft Half Acre Pilsners and a Long Island juice‑style cocktail. The punky, dive‑bar setup—red lights, Kiss posters, punk tunes—gave it mad character. Bartender was chill, crowd was kinda eclectic. Loved the live band energy, though service lagged when it got packed. Solid spot for a late‑night hang,’ll def be back.
