Local Bar Short North

Came in at last call & ordered 2 shots & a cocktail in a can. First was told total was $36 & some change then got my receipt & the real Total was $37.85, tipped $8 cash. How convenient y’all don’t even open until 4 but my card was just charged more money. I’m a server, I don’t tip credit. $3, $5 whatever amount, that’s theft.

The Local Bar is so much fun and provides a great retro atmosphere. Stumbled upon this small hidden gem on an evening walk and found my new favorite local hotspot.

Fun bar with some of the best drink prices in the Short North. Attracts a very diverse crowd, the digital jukebox keeps people dancing all night, and each time I've visited (about 4 times), the atmosphere has a positive vibe. Patrons are generally friendly, open to conversation, and do not cause trouble from my experience. I only downgraded my rating to 4 stars because they really could use another 2 bathrooms to avoid very long lines when it is busiest.

This place is horrendous. There was no one at the door when we walked in. I sat at an empty table. Someone came up to me, claiming to be a person that checks IDs, told me I could not sit at the table. I told them I could show my ID, they told me to get up. I said that I would not get up because there was no indication that it was a taken table and I was DRAGGED out of the bar by my chair. Do not go here. Would give less stars if I could.

Place has potential to have good vibes but took forever for bartender to get drink order. Bartender kept skipping song playlists on touchtunes. Did not accept diverse music selections.

Great drinks. Great staff. We went on Wednesday night which is karaoke night. We had an absolute blast watching everyone sing.
