This is the third year in a row I have stayed at ROOST East Market during an annual business trip to Philadelphia. If I return next year, I will stay here again. The location is excellent, within walking distance to everything I needed. The front desk staff were unfailingly helpful, cheerful, and professional.||I stayed in a one-bedroom unit. This is so vastly preferable to a standard hotel room, with its added space, a separate sitting area, kitchen, laundry facilities, etc. My only slight criticism is that there wasn't really a proper work surface in my unit. I ended up setting up my laptop at the kitchen counter. This worked fine--it's certainly not a reason to stay at a different place--but a desk or work table of some kind would have been nice. ||A note about parking. ROOST itself does not provide parking. There is a city lot located conveniently under the block, but it is very expensive. The charge is based on the number of hours and peaks at $49/day, but if you are staying for a few days, this can get pricey. I have used the parking each time I have stayed here, but the cost is something to be aware of. For dropping off and loading suitcases, the valets at the building across the street have always been very nice about letting me stop in front of the building for a few minutes with no hassle at all.||Overall, ROOST East Market is an excellent choice if work or play brings you to downtown Philadelphia. It's my go-to accommodation, and I don't expect that will change.
Very comfortable and well-equipped apartments in a shared building with residents. Great facilities (gym, pool, common social areas), friendly and efficient staff, well-maintained building and in a good location with plenty of local shops and restaurants. A bit of traffic noise during the day but very quiet at night. Other guests and residents are polite and friendly.
I was looking forward for my visit. The apartment (406) was completely different than the pictures. Chair and sofa had stains, same the carpet. I avoided sitting on the sofa and had to wear shoes. The den that is charged extra, was a windowless room with an old washing machine in the closet. Very sad place to do any work. The lighting was few floor lamps and I couldn’t really see much. Kitchen had nothing, no napkins, no some packs of sugar, only some beans of coffee. It’s advertised that has a separate dinning area, that was also false. I had some water spilled on the floor, of course I had no mop or something to clean, I took some paper towel and you can see the picture how clean the floor was. Absolutely disgusting. The walls had some nails here and there, no decoration, the advertisement was so proud of their decoration. The apartment is a run down place. ||||I decided to write this because I read a review before I go and felt that the guy was probably too demanding and in their response they were so offended and denied such claims. Unfortunately he was right. I’m also posting pictures, you can’t make this up.||||I feel completely cheated for $300+ a night, especially when they show pictures misrepresenting the stay. I’m extremely sad that there are still companies like this, dishonest, unethical people who use this kind of business tactics. ||||Now, some great things were the location, the people in the concierge and the residents. Not worth the visit. Look the pictures and compare the listing, simple.
Location is excellent. Pool was great. Kitchen equipment was perfect for cooking. Beds were comfortable. Showers worked worked well. ||||The sitting furniture is uncomfortable. The desk is connected to the TV stand in the living room. If someone wants to cook, socialize or just relax in the living room, you lack a workspace. This is particularly problematic for Zoom calls. The chairs are so uncomfortable that I was sore after just two hours of Zoom calls.||||A desk in the master bedroom with a cushioned chair would fix this.
Great place to stay. Conveniently located with all the amenities you need to make your stay comfortable and easy. The garage is located under the building for easy access to the hotel. The pool is large and provides a great workout. The kitchen made it possible for us to enjoy our meals in our room.
Fantastic place. Will stay there again. We loved everything about it. The hospitality staff is top-notch, the rooms are spacious, the location is perfect, and the amenities are wonderful. Highly recommend.
We stayed in the East Roost Market for a long term stay (7 weeks) and got to know the place well. Simply put: it's fabulous. The room itself (2 bedroom, corner) was simply amazing with stunning views of City Hall, and containing all the amenities we could want. The pool was the highlight, however, as I had my 10 year old son with me. We were in that pool nearly every day splashing and playing. Finally, the staff were fantastic and I considered some of them friends by the time we left. Just a wonderful experience.
