We really enjoyed our stay here. Parking is easy and either included w your res or you can pay separately. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, clean and nice space. The lobby is really nice for meeting friends or family. We only encountered the desk personnel and she was wonderful, informative and gracious. If you want to be right downtown choose this one!
Very courteous staff, and comfortable room. Lobby very warm and inviting with holiday cheer. Much more inviting than the Omni. Hotel offers modern interiors, complimentary coffee and tea, and my room had a nice view. Although the hotel is in the middle of the downtown and close to shops and the Green, the street side entrance of the hotel is a bit industrial looking but once you are in the hotel, the lobby setting is extremely nice and warm. As soon as you enter the hotel, you are greeted first by an anteroom that blasts hot air which on a frigid day is very welcome, before you enter the lobby. My only suggestion for the room is to provide complimentary bottled water rather than using tap water. Overall, I had a nice stay at a reasonable cost considering it was the holiday season.
We chose this hotel based on location. I rate it average. Beds are hard, making for an uncomfortable night of sleep. The only breakfast option is buying fruit, cereal, etc at the kiosk by the front desk. On a positive note, the room was quiet. Shower had good water pressure, and the towels are nice-sized. Parking is across the street in a covered parking garage. It's $35/night. Spaces are tight. Luckily it wasn't busy or crowded while we were there. We walked to a nearby hotel (Omni) for dinner, and had to pass by homeless people in the block between. The next day we walked to a nearby restaurant. While waiting for it to open, a homeless person approached, wanted a handout, then made rude comments when we didn't respond. He made a rude sexual comment to another group of people waiting.
A very pleasant stay New Haven Hotel. First of all, room rates are a steal! Another huge plus are the staff who were so friendly and thorough in their explanations. Clean and simply designed rooms. Conveniently located within walking distance of many places, the hotel also partnered with restaurants, offering discounts and other little perks. They have a small snack and drink self checkout station in the lobby too. My favorite part of the stay was the safe parking accommodation for twenty something dollars per night. The garage connects to the inside of the hotel via a walking bridge and can only be accessed and exited with a card.
We had a wonderful experience at the New Haven Hotel. The king bed was comfortable, although all the pillows were too thick, which is why I took my own pillow. The staff was exceptionally helpful. The parking was easy, being in a building immediately across the street from the hotel entrance. While it didn't have a restaurant, there were numerous restaurants in the area which could be found in a few minutes walk. The room was very quiet. The shower and water pressure was good. The room had a comfortable couch, and a television which worked well and was easy to use. We were there for a wedding, and the hotel made the experience more pleasurable.
Stayed here for one night while travelling around New England. Parked at front door and check-in was good, reception very friendly. Parking is at garage across the road, with a pedestrian bridge connecting to hotel which is handy. Room is nice with tea/coffee making facilities and a mini fridge. No restaurant or breakfast facilities on site but there is a mini market at reception. Location was great for pizza parlours in town and also Yale University, both about a 15-minute walk away. Recommended for stay in New Haven.
Just checked in and had one of the best interactions with the staff. Stephanie was a great host. As soon i walked in. Immediate service. Met one of the cleaning people, Lydia. Very helpful and great personality. 10/10 would recommend
