The New Pioneer Hotel and Casino

Super fun stay, great staff really appreciate them all working. On Christmas Eve and Christmas. Julie at the front desk and her two coworkers greeted me very warmly. And I appreciated Michelle(name?)!slot supervisor that helped me out. And the price was amazing. Great location too. Easy to walk to lots of food and activities. I brought my own Christmas lights. Those were not included. But the room still amazing.

Another RED FLAG WARNING TO ALL TRAVELERS. Rude lady at the front desk. Checking was horrible. She completely danced around my questions about the deposit. No information about $100.00 deposit and it takes 10 business to get in back. Thats a scam people. They will not provide proof of the deposit either. Nevada zHotel association says they have to provide a receipt and proof the deposit was taken and a $5 administration fee. Nobody charges that. Plus the three floor concrete is breaking about in a wide area near the elevators . Do not stay on the 3rd and it looks like it can completely break at anytime. They should not be booking rooms on the 3rd and 2nd floor untill that concrete has been fixed. Check out people were the rude saying we do not provide receipt on deposit.

Overall very pleased with my stay and service from all staff. The room although a bit dated was clean and extremely large. I stayed in the king size room with sofa along lake side view. It had a fridge in the room as well. My only compliant was no hair dryer but I managed. There were absolutely no hidden fees as I knew upon reserving there was an additional $5 charge that would be billed at check in. I was hesitant to book here based on some reviews but happy that it all worked out perfectly for me.

Best bang for your buck on the Colorado River! The staff are super friendly which is the best part. The rooms have all been updated since my younger years. It's in the middle of all the other hotels on the strip, making for a fantastic location.

I had reserved a few nights at the New Pioneer for a mere $22 per night. I was stoked about the affordable price and the riverfront location. Then I found out they were going to charge $75 per night for my pet — a detail that was not revealed on Bookings.com. So instead, I chose to stay elsewhere, and it actually worked out much better. Many reviews mention that the New Pioneer doesn’t provide refrigerators or microwaves. Since I don’t eat garbage food and thus travel with my own meals, I need a fridge and microwave. It also sounds like I dodged a bullet when it comes to room cleanliness and customer service. Sometimes what seems like a bad situation turns out to be a stroke of luck. Best wishes to anyone who stays here — and one question for the folks giving this place three or four stars: were you raised in a barn?

If you’re thinking of staying here, DONT DO IT! They double charged me for a river view room, still waiting for my incidental deposit from three weeks ago. It’s only $100 . No emails have been answered, no call back from accounts dept, general manager has not returned my calls. Used to love coming here and staying for the last few years. Will not be staying here anymore. Very sad a hotel/ casino has to treat guests this bad.

The absolute worst hotel on the river. We get there check in, let them know we have two service dogs and regardless of price we want the best available. The gal said no problem and got us room 418. We went across the street to grab food came back and our door was locked. We couldn't get to our dogs. We were accused of not paying rhe fee and not telling them we had dogs. The feeling of not being able to gey to our dogs when we have done everything we were asked to do, was unbreakable. The treatment of these low life staff members as if we were there to rip apart a place already ripped apart. Bartender was drunk Purple nose and all. Asked for coffee and it was cold.
