Potentially a 5 Star hotel until you meet the staff. Super unlikely to go back. We asked about good food in the area, comment was made McDonald’s. This hotel group needs to take a look at how The Ritz Carlton operates the front desk down to the bellman. Super trashy customer service here but with a great hotel, and location. We won’t be back, you can get better service for the same price elsewhere.

Great location and the staff was very friendly, the valet especially. We had a slight issue with the shower flooding the bathroom floor and the staff handled the situation promptly and effectively by moving us to another room. The rooms were very comfortable and large, which I appreciated! My only complaint is that I had a couple of special requests ahead of my stay as it was my son’s 20th birthday. As per the suggestions of reservations, I emailed my requests to: sjreservations@valenciagroup.com, I sent two emails that unfortunately were never were responded to.

My stay at this hotel was very underwhelming. Im not a fan of this place at all and I can only say my stay was bearable. Let’s start with the entrance. Slow elevators from the outside to get to the lobby. I asked to use the steps, I was told steps were not an option. At night, the hotel is a club. So the entrance is loud with a long line and a bouncer outside asking for my room key. I kid you not, after the longest wait for the elevator, when it finally came 100 loud/drunk people must of gotten off the elevator. It was like a cartoon show. I was disturbed. The rooms are spacious but 100% not that clean. Hotels with carpet often lack a level of cleanliness in general and this was no different. The rooms are in need of a deep clean it was just places in the corners and underneath the furniture that made this clear. Room service wasn’t the best. The Breakfast food was cool. However the lunch lacked healthy options and flavor. I opted to do outside food delivery but this was inconvenient because of the entrance and no fridge space. Side note. I recently stopped drinking alcohol, I called to have the fully stocked bar in my room removed. No one came. The best thing about this hotel were the window shades, the robes and the rooftop pool. The walls are thin and I could hear everything from the hallway and the breathing of other hotel guests. Im glad I was only here two nights. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel nor would I stay here again. The location was nice. I was able to walk around in an aesthetically pleasing area and check out cute shops. Thats about it.

The manager Scott Dolan is doing a great job at this beautiful establishment. You can sense that his presence as manager of high-quality is emulated through his employees. The customer service was excellent. The food was wonderful. We had tapas from Oveja Negra, which was over the top superb. our server, Riccardo gave excellent customer service and made us feel welcome and was very attentive to all of our request. Chef Pedro came out to welcome us and we thanked him for the excellent food and we’re blessed and graced with his amazing basket cheesecake for dessert I have never in my life tasted a better Basque cheesecake and my family is from the Basque region in Spain. Overall, excellent excellent excellent!!!

Been there couple of times for drinks with friends. Pretty chill place, friendly servers and people, nice drinks, even appetizers are good. Good place to unwind and meet good people. They rank pretty high on my old fashioned scale. Paid parking garage near by.

We know the area very well as we lived near by in the past and know when the hotel was open. It has been for more than 20 years and it is time for upgrades. The white floor in the bathroom had several marks and there was only hot water in the bathroom sink. The hotel is showing age as to walls and furniture. The bed was comfortable, but the bathroom tub and walls look old for a 4-star hotel. The towel rack is located under sink, which is inconvenient. Most 4 star hotels nowadays have a shower cabin or both a shower and a tub. A tiny fridge is packed with alcohol and it is not possible to put a water bottle there. The room was clean and the staff at the front desk were friendly. Santana Row is a shopping/dining place. It is vibrant and noisy with crowds of people walking around. Fortunately, our king size room faced the court yard and was spacious and quiet. It was fine for us for one night stay. All walking in the area is in Santana Row or Valley Fair shopping mall. If you come for shopping or celebrations it is the place to go. A lot of nice restaurants and shops, but to see more in San Jose area it is necessary to drive. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant had a good selection. The swimming pool and bar on the top are impressive. The hotel has 7 stories, it is more like a boutique hotel with valet parking. As a result, it is pricey.

Location was perfect and the vallet/doorman were prompt and polite, but it was downhill from there, at least for us. Our room wasn't ready upon check-in even though it was after check-in time. Not a big deal, but when we did get our keys, we found dirty dishes directly in front of our door and a clogged bathroom sink waiting for us as well. Kinda gross. Took a lot away from out initial impressions. We reported this to the front desk worker, who was apologetic and offered a complimentary room service snack. He said he would speak to the manager about it, but she didn't seem too concerned. It also took longer than expected to receive deliveries from the hotel service staff (food, towels, etc). One request, for a room service table to eat our food on went totally ignored, but by then, we had grown so exhausted we just let it be and ate standing over the room desk. Disappointing as I really wanted to like this place. Maybe my expectations were too high.
