JP Luby Beach

Great beach with clean, soft sand and much calmer water than the beaches in Corpus Christi. Only wish you could find more seashells as the kids were wanting to bring some home. Don't waste your time going to the Corpus Christi beaches like North Beach. Sand covered in seaweed, no parking, no bathrooms, and jellyfish everywhere. The beaches on the island however let you park right on the beach for a $12 permit that lasts all year and helps funding for the beaches. This beach was gorgeous with a couple showers when you enter as well as porta potty bathrooms about every 300-400 yards. Didn't see any jellyfish and you can wade out in the water about 100 yards and still be touching. Decent place to body board. Camping and fires allowed right on the beach.

On a real good day the first few feet of water is quite clear with beautiful white sand. ‼️Come prepared to take your trash with you when you leave or don’t come at all!! Careful with the tar, it will ruin your clothes and such.

A little busy on weekends, but cant beat this getaway. Cool breeze blowing in from the ocean, the sound of waves crashing at your feet. Its therapy in itself

Our first time to JP Luby Beach and we loved it! It was so big and clean with lots of friendly folks. We backed up our car and had prime beach access. The waves are great here, that explains all the surfing activity which was really cool watching all the surfers. Can’t wait to come back in the summer to have more time at one of the best beaches i have been to in the area!

Watching the lightning with nice breeze waiting for the meteor shower beginning at 12 midnight through sunrise, little crabs cruising quite fast for little guys. No moon tonight stars bright. Saw large turtle in water, too cool and lots of small fish cruising. Water 80 degrees NICEEEEEE

Love it. It’s place full of you like to walk on the beach. Unfortunately, during our visit there was many jellyfish (clear ones) and the Portuguese man o' war jellyfish.
