Green Lake Community Center

Have had oodles of great memories in this space. But I'm also sick and fed up with the desk staff, and coordinators for programs in this space, being passive-aggressive jerks with people who are using the space as intended (to be active and healthy). It's your job! You're fulfilling a good and noble purpose for the space, but you're souring it with your lame attitude towards people. Why choose to work here if that's how you're going to behave?

Extremely crowded. Public pot smoking and homeless not uncommon around the center. no parking to speak of. If you want peace and quiet, definitely not the place.

Outside Basketball court is slanted. Staff inside is rude. Place needs to be tore down & rebuilt. The "Mens" shower is a open prison stall. Open door where anybody could just walk in. There's a condom dispenser next to the sink. I would not bring your kids here, it's a issue that seriously needs to be addressed. "Mayor" Ed Murray was a representative of the the "Green Lake/Capital Hill area. I've never seen a "COMMUNITY CENTER" like this. Shame, because a lot of people come up to this area.

Dirty and old probably has asbestos my family is homeless in domestic violence the workers all week was OK with me and my daughter showering the 2 white ladies today was snooty and wouldn't let us shower for free I hope yall lose your grants not much here anyway.

Very good place

So great! The staff was so kind and friendly to my LO. He asked if they could turn the ceiling fan on and they did. The toddler play area was fun.

Even though it's an older building, the experience is great with a toddler room, drop-in activities, classes and specialty camp for kids. There will be more classes in the fall. The Center Is in Green Lake Park which is a great place to spend the day. Easy access via public transportation.
