Courtyard by Marriott New Braunfels River Village

Ms. Kendall, Ms. Amber and Mr. Isaiah went above and absolutely beyond for our stay. We had our small wedding ceremony here and stayed one night prior. They took all my wishes and requests and just completely delivered the best service and made my wedding day PERFECT. I used to work in hotels so I know that they weren't wanting to tell us that they accidentally gave our original room away. (I booked far in advance and didnt make sure I got the room, and from personal experience, I know these things happen) but I could tell that that was what happened, however, they ended up giving us the room I originally loved in the first place, and it was absolutely perfect. As an extra apology, which they really didn't need to do, after we came back from grabbing dinner in town, we found a chilled bottle of champagne and a bunch of snacks with a hand signed card from all of them congratulating us on our marriage! THEN (yeah, it gets better) They gave us a delicious complimentary breakfast as an added suprise, just to make the day amazing for us. We have never felt so special. They allowed us a late check out without extra charge, let us use the back lawn for our small ceremony and were just perfect the whole time. As someone in a manager position, with experience in hotels and customer service; these staff are ALL STARS. I couldn't be happier and I'll recommend this hotel to anyone who asks. You dont have a company without employees like this. To whoever is in charge, reward them as much as possible. They didnt need to do all that they did and they chose to anyway!

The hotel was fine for a short stay, but overall it was just average and didn’t quite meet expectations for a Courtyard by Marriott. The room was clean and comfortable, but nothing really stood out in terms of service, amenities, or overall experience. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I was disappointed by the lack of recognition or appreciation—there were no perks, upgrades, or acknowledgment, which made the stay feel no different than booking anywhere else. If you’re loyal to the Bonvoy program and value those benefits, you may want to consider another Marriott location.

Bonvoy members steer clear! This place is not remotely up to Courtyard standards. Painted over mold in the bathroom. Damaged fixtures from 1995. Exterior renovation won’t fix paper thin walls and floors. AC doesn’t work in December. I can’t imagine what this place is like in August. There is some repair work going on upstairs making it impossible to work.

Best hotel in NB! This beautiful hotel has amazing access to the river, comfortable and spacious rooms, and very friendly staff. The tomato basil, soup, and grilled cheese was so good I had to complement the chef, his name is Shane!

I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but this hotel deserves every bit of criticism it gets. From the moment I checked in, things were just awful. The room looked nothing like the photos online — it was dirty, outdated, and had an awful smell. The bedding was stained and felt unwashed, and to make things worse, there were ants crawling everywhere — on the nightstand, the walls, even on the bed! It was disgusting. The air conditioning barely worked, and instead of cooling the room, it just made a loud rattling noise all night. Between that and the constant noise from outside and the hallway, I barely got any sleep. It honestly felt like the hotel didn’t care at all about guest comfort. The bathroom was just as bad — mold in the corners, a leaky faucet, a broken showerhead, and an overall musty smell that never went away. There were ants there too, which made it feel even more unhygienic. I had to use bottled water just to brush my teeth because the sink water looked questionable. When I tried to talk to the staff about these issues, they were dismissive and unhelpful. One person even shrugged and said, "That’s just how it is." There was zero effort to fix anything or even apologize. For the price they charge, this kind of service and cleanliness is completely unacceptable. I’ve stayed in plenty of budget hotels before and never had an experience this bad. This place is poorly managed, filthy, noisy, and uncomfortable from start to finish. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone — spend your money somewhere else and save yourself the frustration.

Terrible experience! Do not book. The hotel is under construction, and the crews start at 8:30 am and end at 6:00 pm. Even on the weekends. Drilling, hammering and jack hammering all day! No mention of this at check in. They just stuck us in a room surrounded by rooms under construction. We ventured out to the pool to escape the noise only to find large cranes and more construction.||Yes, the remodel is needed. Bathrooms have mold, showers leak, carpets are gross. This whole experience shows how the owners care more about their profits than their guests. We will never stay at this hotel again.||PS- I did not complain at the front desk, because those that did became even more frustrated with the lack of concern.

The front desk staff was being very rude during my check in process. When I asked to speak with her manager, they both went to the office and left me waiting for over 15 minutes. She called me racial names and even called me out of my name. The manager NEVER came out of the office!!! This is not how you treat your guest. I am also making a complaint to cooperate. I ended up leaving to another last-minute hotel I was able to find since I was traveling from California to be with my family during the holidays.
