📍 Leather bars in New York

5.4

This establishment offers a unique blend of dive-bar charm and trendy atmosphere, making it a lively spot for socializing. The happy hour prices are notably appealing, and the creative drink menu, though slightly pricey, is well-received. The food, while a bit expensive, is praised for its quality, with standout items like the fries. The service can vary based on crowd levels, but the overall experience is energetic and engaging.

The bar excels in creating a hometown feel, with friendly staff that enhance the welcoming vibe. It's a go-to for themed nights and social activities, offering a range of beers and occasional vegan options. The atmosphere is perfect for those seeking a fun, social setting rather than a quiet evening out.

Great happy hour prices, GREAT vibes! This is a fun, unique spot. Drinks are a little weak - food is a little expensive, but great nonetheless.

I came here for drinks with friends, and it’s a fun, lively Lower East Side bar with a dive-bar look but a trendy crowd. The music is upbeat, the place gets packed quickly at night, and it feels more like a social hangout than a sit-down restaurant. Drinks are solid and creative, though a bit pricey for a dive-style bar. The fries were surprisingly good and went perfectly with drinks. Service can be hit or miss depending on how busy it is, but overall, it’s a good spot if you want energy and atmosphere rather than a quiet night out.

I’m tempted to gatekeep but…this is honestly one of the best bars in NYC. Beer + burger for $15 is the cheapest dinner in lower Manhattan and the girls here are SO fun and so nice. There’s usually some theme night so that’s fun too PLUS pool. You can’t ask for more than this, folks.

This is such a chill homey place. Very humble. I wish there were vegan options to eat! Loved cider beer, ive never heard of this company . Also, Halee is the coolest bartender I’ve ever come across!

Coming from Texas I was suspicious when I heard it was supposed to represent a "hometown bar". I was pleasantly surprised to see they really nailed the vibe and it was right on point. Everyone knows the most important part of a great hometown bar is a bartender that makes you feel comfortable and have a great time and Peter was awesome. I love coming here any chance I can get. Their N/A options are killer too. Love the margarita!

I love rays so very much<3 Very happy and lucky to call the staff my friends. Peter always slings the best cocktails — serves up good vibes, A+ banter, and the kind of energy that turns "just one drink" into "okay fine, one more." In the best way:) Drinks? Delicious. Vibes? Immaculate. Bartenders? The hottest. Do yourself a favor and grab a seat at the bar. Thank me later.

Ray’s has that effortlessly cool downtown energy — cozy lighting, great music, and the kind of crowd that makes you feel like you’re part of something. It’s the perfect mix of chill and lively, where every drink feels intentional and the vibe just flows. And then there’s Peter. You notice him before you even sit down — confident, funny, easygoing, and yes… those tattoos don’t hurt either. There’s something about the way he moves behind the bar — totally in control, but relaxed — that makes the whole place feel alive. He suggested a drink that was exactly my taste, and somehow managed to keep the entire bar happy without missing a beat. By the end of the night, my friends and I were all saying the same thing: Ray’s is great, but Peter makes it unforgettable.
