Green Eye Lounge

Cool neighborhood bar. Just came in for a drink while we were hanging out in the area. Fairly large, plenty of seating and a couple pinballs to steal your quarters. I had an old style and pretended to be a local getting off the L before heading home after kicking back a few.

Incredible bar. Great location. Great prices. And above all, great workers. Just yesterday, I was at the green eye to enjoy the bears game. An insanely annoying group of suburbanites were harassing the single bartender during a rush. The bartender politely, yet firmly shut them down, allowing for everyone else to get drinks within a reasonable timeframe. Most bartenders would have cowered and spent 15 minutes going through the menu with people in the city for a few hours. This ain’t federales folks. Green eye is a great, normal bar for reasonable people that make reasonable orders.

Great classic Chicago bar right on the blue line. Decor is nice with a lot of nostalgia on display, and the drink menu is pretty straight forward. Plenty of space inside for groups to spread out. Cash is preferred here and you'll get a 10% discount for not using cards.

I can’t comment on the food, but walking into a bar after working all day just to be abrasively demanded by some middle aged bald guy that I show my ID is pretty annoying, actually. Yes, I’m sure you’re legally obligated to check IDs but the JROTC/burnout teacher energy can be toned down a bit. There’s no reason that, at 30 years old, I should be talked to that way by another "adult." More points deducted for not being able to name the only two THC drinks available on the entire menu. A couple more for the audacity. Edit: after scrolling through other reviews of this place, I think it’s clear what their intended clientele is. 🤣

It weren't many people there weren't crowded and the gentleman bartender to service customers were attentive, I ordered the apple high ball 🏀 and it were served with a orange peel and ice. I ordered so fast I didn't have time opportunity to say I would prefer no ice. It were a subtle cocktail drink. I hadn't fully looked at the building or browse so I can't say if its truly worthwhile but the bar 🍺 were clean 🫧.

This bar is super chill and had really good drinks. It does have a $10 minimum, but that is very normal for this type of a bar. The only snacks they provided are an overpriced bag of chips. Overall really fun bar with card games and pinball machines

Cool space I went to for a drawing event on a Wednesday night. I had a nice time, art was reasonably priced, typical Chicago dive bar nothing to write home about no complaints. Everyone was friendly, I'll probably come back.
