The Red Door Saloon Midtown
The Red Door Saloon Midtown offers a diverse experience with a mix of opinions on its service and atmosphere. While some visitors praise the attentive staff and delicious food, others report inconsistent treatment and aggressive security. The bar features a variety of beers on tap and a lively setting, but the overall experience can vary greatly depending on the night and the staff on duty.

Customer Reviews
The Red Door Saloon Midtown has a rating of 4 out of 5 based on over 919 reviews on Google
Red Door Saloon is easily one of the worst bars in Nashville. Security is aggressive, unprofessional, and ejects people without explanation or warning. No conversation. No de-escalation. Just hostility. This is a terrible look for a city built on hospitality. If you think this is exaggerated, look at the pictures and decide for yourself. What’s even worse: I personally watched this happen four times in under five minutes, completely unprovoked. Security didn’t just remove patrons they borderline assaulted them, then came outside laughing, clapping, and joking about it afterward. The reaction in the photo says everything, people were visibly shocked by how innocent customers were consistently treated. 0/10. Low-class behavior. Avoid this place.
Great dive bar fill right off music row. Lots of beers on tap. Buffalo wing sauce was really tasty. He said they flash fried before saucing but they weren’t really crispy at all. Bartender was very attentive.
Great atmosphere and great bar staff. The food though? Wow. Cold rueben sandwich, hot dog covered in cold toppings, another hot dog heaped with toppings but ordered plain, french dip that is a funky beef sandwich but not a french dip, pizza that both people said ‘not good’. I see other reviews of people that enjoy the food so maybe we just had an off night. But the amount of food that we didn’t eat was embarrassing.
Red Door – Nashville I had one of the most uncomfortable door experiences I’ve had in Nashville, and I found it both disgusting and shameful. Our group arrived at Red Door dressed well and prepared to enjoy the evening after attending an industry holiday party. At the entrance, the way our group was handled felt inconsistent and unfair. One person was allowed in without being asked for ID, while another member of our group was stopped and told to remain outside because of a fake fur jacket. There was no clear explanation, no consistent application of rules, and no attempt to handle the situation respectfully. Watching different standards applied to people in the same group was confusing and upsetting. The way this was handled felt arbitrary and, from my perspective, discriminatory in nature. Being excluded while others were allowed to enter freely was humiliating and unnecessary, and it completely ruined what was meant to be a celebratory night. The overall experience at the door was, in my opinion, disgusting and shameful. This reflects very poorly on how Red Door manages its entrance and the individuals representing the venue. Based on this experience, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this establishment!
Great food. Seasoned and hot. Great people. Nice space to hang out.
My expectations weren’t high (I figured it was just like any other bar in downtown), but I’m genuinely blown away. Bartenders were super attentive (shout out Maxine) and drinks were nice and strong. Surprisingly the food was delicious - we got the pretzel bites and the pork rinds and they came out fresh and hot. We also had the pesto chicken panini and it may be one of the tastiest pesto sandwiches in the city. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.
We came because we wanted to see the skeletons in the basement and so glad we did! Cute space hand breading their delicious tenders, scratch made dressings and fries! The coleslaw was especially crisp and delicious. Make sure to have ID handy as they card everyone. The bartender was friendly and super knowledgeable about the space and area. I definitely recommend stopping in!
