Texas Thrift Irving
Texas Thrift Irving stands out as a large-scale thrift store with an expansive selection of clothing, accessories, and household goods. The generous inventory includes everything from vintage apparel to everyday essentials, often featuring discounted prices—though pricing can vary significantly. Known for its friendly staff and convenient free parking, the store offers a treasure-hunt shopping experience, though some may find the layout a bit chaotic.
While brand-name items tend to carry higher price tags, the store occasionally highlights unique finds and well-maintained pieces. Self-checkout options are available, though occasional operational hiccups—like barcode issues—may arise. Overall, it’s a solid destination for bargain hunters, especially during sales, though no returns or exchanges are permitted, so careful selection is key.

This store is truly a giant thrift store with a massive selection—there’s a ton to browse through, from clothes to shoes and just about everything in between. It can feel a bit overwhelming because items are everywhere, but if you enjoy digging, this is the place for you. They had some discounts when I went, depending on the colour of the tag, between 25 to 70%. The staff is kind and welcoming, and there’s plenty of free parking outside, which makes visiting easy. The main downside: there are no dressing rooms, only bathrooms, and all sales are final—no returns or exchanges. Definitely keep that in mind before purchasing.
It used to be one of my favorite stores, but the prices are way too high. Clothes of all brands are very expensive. Regular t-shirts are usually $7.49. Long sleeve shirts are $10.49. Used bed sheets are $5.49+. Housewares and toys are expensive too. I regularly find used plush from Five Below and Dollar Tree here for way more than buying new. This snail is from Five Below.
There are good finds here only because the prices are outrageous so you have a better chance of finding good stuff since no one will buy it. A hoodie with a stain will cost $16 when you can get it brand new at the mall for maybe $20. If they see a brand name like gap free people or Madewell expect the item to be over $20 even if it’s a top. This is not thrifting anymore this is just shopping at a consignment store like Plato’s closet. Also you can scan your own items now at the self checkout so thats something
If you are specifically looking for name brand clothes, they are going to be priced high. I don’t like it, but I understand why. if you value quality of clothes, then they are appropriately priced. I found a cute dress with no brand tags. It was probably home made or a small brand, the stitching and silhouette felt really good. Got it for 8.99
The intercom states it is not a self service checkout yet all clients scanned their items (today at 4:53). When you try to ask for help because the price tag on the shoe is not scanning they say that they have to keep it to get a new tag, it could only be done the next day in the morning and that I could come back at 11. I asked if they could hold it and they said no that it would be placed on the floor. I would have to go back to look for it. All the numbers where there so I asked if there was a way to look it up, since according to him each item has a bar code. Not helpful, rude and dismissive. Customers next to me where paying cash and where sent to to a card only machine. When they asked for help they voided their transaction and told them to go to another register- this can be avoided if they followed their own protocol. There needs to be someone that CAN help at the registers when someone is trying to pay for an item. There has not been an instance where I am trying to pay and can't even with items at stores without a barcode. Cashiers lookup the item/find a solution or try to help...Not to mention how overpriced some items can be.
A very good thrift store indeed! They have a HUGE INVENTORY for you to look through. The prices are alittle more than average thrift store prices, but they have very nice clothing from vintage to everyday to different. I feel you could not waste your time taking the chance to shop here. They do have discounts and discount days to save you that extra few bucks. Definitely a winner of thrift stores to shop at! ENJOY!
I've been buying watches from these stores. I get a bunch that didn't work and i finally asked if they could give me credit. They were actually helpful.
