Aerial Lift Bridge

The aerial bridge is very architectural unique. To have a bridge move up and down as often as often as it does is amazing. To have shops and food close by is very business Savvy Idea to drawl in customer. It is a very busy area. It takes 3:25 mins to raise and lower. If your not into architecture you will not get it but you still enjoy watching it.

To start the bridge is beautiful and beautifully designed. It’s interesting to simply watch it raise and lower to let ships in and out of the harbor. The bridge was built in 1905 and only one other exist in the US. It has a very diverse history but as you can see it is as beautiful as ever.

We were in Duluth for the day and decided to check out the Aerial Lift Bridge. We've seen the Aerial Lift Bridge on some YouTube videos but this was our first time seeing it in person. We got to watch it raise and lower a couple of times, very cool. Also got to snag a Geocache while we were on the bridge.

Such a great icon in the city of the Duluth which is the Minnesota seaway. Fun to drive or walk over. Neat to see the road lift to allow boats and barges pass through. Next to Canal Park which is full of shops and restaurants. Fun place to discover.

This 1930's Army Corps of Engineers built bridge is a wonderful machine at over 90 years old. Watching those 500 tonight counterweights balance out the 1,000 ton span is cool to watch. It looks quite similar to the Cape Cod Canal bridge.
