This is one of my favorite places to go to in Santa Clarita. Parking can be a bit challenging with only limited street parking. I love the whole vibe from walking in to leaving. The space is dark but done in an elegant way and the bartenders are all knowledgeable and creative in making you drinks. We went on a Saturday night and they had live music, it was a solo player and he was wonderful. We ordered a salad, drinks, grilled cheese and beef stroganoff, all of which was fabulous. Is it expensive, yes it can be but it's also an evening out as an experience.

Didn’t feel like driving into town for my birthday (the big party was planned for another day in Marina Del Rey), so we decided to keep it simple and have a nice, quiet early dinner at the speakeasy at Sidecar. I’ve always been curious about this spot, and to my surprise, it’s actually Santa Clarita’s very first speakeasy… how cool is that? We’ve been loyal fans of their sister restaurant next door for years …it’s our go-to for breakfast, brunch, or dinner … so trying Sidecar felt like the perfect next step. And wow… what a great choice! The cocktails were excellent. They made my Old Fashioned exactly the way I like it, and my partner loved their gin and tonics. The servers were absolutely wonderful (I feel so bad I forgot their names!) and made the evening feel extra special. The vibe is warm, cozy, and stylish … perfect for a relaxed night out. Honestly, it was such a sweet way to kick off my birthday celebrations. We’ll definitely be back again soon!

An exceptional establishment with terrific food and fantastic drinks. Lovely atmosphere in a tucked away hiding spot. Makes you feel slightly Mission Impssible-esque when entering through the disguised storefront. This restaurant alone makes Santa Clarita/Newhall worth a trip. Be sure to make a reservation, they have limited space and it accentuates the atmosphere nicely. Tastefully decorated as well.

My husband and I finally got to try the Sidecar Market in Newhall. The drinks were superb. Food was pretty good as well. The wait staff was very attentive. They literally checked on us every few minutes. We were there fairly early though so it had a casual vibe. No one other than us seemed to be dressed for dinner. The only downside was my husband asked if they could make a Ramos Gin Fizz. We have had it in New Orleans, where it originated, and in an upscale bar in Vegas. Both those experiences were incredible. The bartender said she didn't know what it was so he said nevermind and asked for something different. Well I guess she wanted to impress, looked it up and gave him one anyway. Unfortunately she failed miserably. There's a reason only a few places make it. It's an art and very labor intensive. He didn't want to send it back and drank it anyway. 🤔🤔 I didn't take a photo of it.

Incredible experience. From the moment we sat down to our departure, we were treated First-class The stuff was super friendly and polite. This location I didn't know existed, it's a must visit. The food and drinks are First-Class. Culinary at its best. Outstanding flavors. Food heaven even though it's small menu. The cocktails are impressive. Came on a Whisky day tasting which I did not about. Hidden gem in Old Town.

Old Town Newhall scores again! My wife and I had our weekly date night at Sidecar Market after making a pretty easy to get reservation. (Do that, it can fill up and you don't want to be disappointed just showing up.) The whole experience was fun and delicious...starting with getting through the storefront...I mean I'm not a big fan of knives but appreciated the artistry and the sort of reverse escape room process of trying to get IN to the place instead of out. We were seated at the bar which gave us a fantastic view of the bartenders making their gorgeous cocktails...smoke bubbles on top of drinks was new to us and we loved the ride. Both of our drinks were superb and delivered by a bartender with a whole lot of deep knowledge of what they offered. My wife had a tequila and I had The Last Word Cocktail. All of the good we were brought was also delicious...not a dud in the bunch with decent enough options for vegetarians including the Almonds with Truffles and Parmesan, the Bibs Lettuce Salada, and the super-yummy elevated palate grilled cheese. The menu may change seasonally, so hopefully there will always be a few things for vegetarians. We really loved it in here...everything...the atmosphere, the food, the drinks. We look forward to going back.

High-end cuisine and perfectly balanced creative cocktails in a unique environment. This was our first experience at Sidecar, and we'll definitely be back with friends for a special occasion. My wife and I were celebrating our 35th anniversary and treated ourselves. We shared a shrimp cocktail appetizer (5 huge shrimp with tasty sauces), and we split two entres, the most expensive item on the menu, A5 Japanese Kagoshima Filet Mignon, and the pork belly special. Both dishes were extraordinarily tastey, cooked to perfection, with sauces and sides that were carefully designed to complement each other. The food was comparable to the Michelin star restaurants we've dined at. The cocktail designer has skills. I thoroughly enjoyed the Black Manhattan. (This is the best Manhattan I've ever had. I'm an Old Fashioned guy, but they converted me with this concoction). My wife raved about The Lotus. The dark ambiance is enhanced by gold flatware, gold toned metal tables, a beautifully lighted bar back, and 20s-era black and white photos. While it was interesting, the sopgistication fell and little short compared to the food quality, excellent service, and bill. The restaurant is small. Half the patrons dine at the bar. As we were leaving at 8 pm on a Friday night, a two-piece jazz band started their set in a crowded little corner. Dress casual. Make reservations. If you dine early enough, you'll get to pick between a table or the bar.
