Beacon's Closet

I went to this Beacon’s Closet location yesterday. This is my First time ever visiting this store. I was able to trade in two items. I ended up getting a sky blue bottom up shirt. And a pair of socks for my mom.

Would absolutely never return to this location although I’ve been several times over the past decade or so. So incredibly rude and careless with your items and deeply unhelpful. Never had this experience before but it is settled for me. Would also never recommend that anyone like me (dark-skinned, poc) go here as it’s not worth the risk. No one cares how much of our stuff you buy—there is always somewhere else to sell. Treating people and their items poorly has nothing to do with buying or selling and everything to do with a lack of care.

While this establishment offers a wide range of products, the prices may be a bit steep for some budgets. However, the staff provides excellent customer service and keeps the store well-organized. To save money, look out for items with special sale tickets.

Amazing selection. If you have a good eye and a keen sense of value for brand, you’ll make out like a bandit. Yes it’s a bit pricey for non-luxury thrift, but if you’re a fashion lover and know your eras well, you can find near perfect J Crew pieces from the Jenna Lyons era, a pair of amazing flared 7 jeans from the early 2000s (that are now on trend again) and a STUNNING chiffon SS2004 Elie Saab gown that whomever donated tore the bustier off and re-stitched the seam (hence turning it into a long maxi skirt again. I was able to pair the latter with a simple black tank, heels, and a low belt and not only did the skirt billow in the wind, it’s a piece I’ll have forever. That said, you really do have to spend some time looking. This is the best of all their locations but you’ll still find some weird shein trash priced at $15-$20 bucks (lol what?). Use your judgment and keep yourself knowledgeable on fabric composition. You can definitely furnish a fantastic vintage designer or upmarket wardrobe under $500 here.

Will never come to this branch again. To summarize, crowded and narrow experience. For buying they only stock out-of-date vintage like what you saw in vintage stores 10 years ago. For selling anticipate cold manner from the traders. Visited here several times with good stuff, turned out nothing sold and being told things were "not good enough"; somehow sold them all in another new resale store nearby. In general it feels like instead of growing the brand culture over time, they ended up hiring dumb, lazy somehow arrogant employees to reinforce who they were.

I brought two large bags of clothes to sell, and they do not take a single thing. Which would be OK except that my clothes came back to me covered in crumpled potato chips. Which I know for a fact was not there before. Extremely disappointed and absolutely disgusting. Shame .

They had such a great selection. So many things that were right up my alley. Lots of variety. There’s a certain style of jacket I’d been looking for and was so excited to find one there that fit. But the price tag had already been snagged off at some point. And when I went to go ask how much it was and buy it they said they have a policy that forbids sale of any item that has lost its price tag. I was really bummed about that 🙁 they said come back tomorrow and it’ll be repriced, but I was only in the neighborhood for that day so that wasn’t an option. That was the only negative part of the experience. Other than that I liked the place! Went there about a year ago and still use this bag.
