I was getting last minute balloons and one of the workers was just SO KIND. I wish I remembered her name but she was working the balloon station and it was Valentine's Day. I had figured I'd get some at Dollar tree but didn't realize it was Valentine's since I was focused on the birthday party and they were out. Google sent me to Michael's and she was so kind and accommodating! Even let me leave the balloons with her as my son desperately needed the bathroom and they told me where it was. Bathroom was decent. I'm definitely going to just pre-order balloons from there going forward given that it's reliable and they were so good to us! I know my emergency isn't their problem, but they still helped me get to the party with the balloons basically on time!

I recently attended a customer appreciation event at Michael’s in Sunnyvale and was genuinely impressed! They brought in local vendors for tastings, which added such a fun and community-focused vibe to the store. The lemonade stand was absolutely delicious, and my daughter couldn’t get enough of the cotton candy...it was her favorite part! This kind of event is something I wouldn’t have expected from a craft store, but it really shows how much they care about their customers and the local community. On top of that, the Michael’s team is always so helpful and kind every time I visit. Whether I’m grabbing supplies for a project or just browsing, they make the experience enjoyable. Love this store and love what they’re doing...keep it up, Michael’s!

This location seemed short on staff with some people leaving after they couldn't get assistance. We came buy to pick up an online order and attempted to follow the self-serve directions on the sign only to be told somewhat rudely that we couldn't be in that area. When pointing to the self-serve directions on the sign, we were told the directions no longer applied. I think the employees were a little overwhelmed.

They have a great variety of products, but the prices feel a bit high compared to other stores. For a simple DIY project, items were priced at $7–$15 each, and I’ve seen similar ones for about half the price elsewhere.

Do not place pickup orders from Michaels. Michaels is completely unreliable when it comes to order pickup. I drove 20 minutes to get an item I had already paid for, only to be told that my order had "already been picked up" — by someone else. After waiting around for 15 minutes, they admitted they couldn’t find my order and just issued a refund and saying there's nothing else that can be done. What makes this worse is that it’s not the first time I've had issue with pickup at Michaels. The first time I ordered pickup, they gave me the wrong order and then told me to go look through the aisles myself to see if the correct item was still there. At the end, they ended up issuing a refund. Once can be attributed to a mistake, but this seems to be a pattern. Michaels clearly has zero control over its pickup process and absolutely no sense of accountability. It’s frustrating, unprofessional, and a total waste of time. Do yourself a favor — skip the pickup option and have your items shipped instead, or pickup at some other reliable store.

They're trying to make up in part for the closing of Joann's fabric stores, which is welcome, but so far the range of yard goods isn't anything like what I'd hoped. At least it's nice to have a convenient local place to pick up common notions like elastic and safety pins.

This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I came in to return an air balloon inflator I purchased only two days ago because it didn’t work for the smaller balloons I needed. Instead of helping me, the employee was extremely rude, refused to return my box, and even accused me of breaking the item — a completely false and insulting claim. To make matters worse, he called his manager, who was just as unprofessional. She insisted that because I purchased the item at a different location, I had to take it back there to return it. I have never heard of such a policy, and no store I’ve ever dealt with has required returns to be made at the exact same location. I bought the item near my workplace and tried to return it near my home — something that should be simple and reasonable. The way I was treated was unacceptable. Instead of supporting a customer with a legitimate concern, both the employee and manager chose to be dismissive, accusatory, and disrespectful. This experience has completely changed my view of this company, and I will not be returning to this store again.
