Customer Reviews
P10neer has a rating of 4.8 out of 5 based on over 63 reviews on Google
Very unassuming on the outside, very speakeasy feeling. Very limited seating, intimate atmosphere. Alex made us feel welcome, was very knowledgeable and informative, and our drinks were top notch. They offer twists on classic cocktails, and each one we tried were great. Would highly recommend! We did not make a reservation, did not have to wait long at all.
P10neer was a very cool experience. The vibe and atmosphere were very unique. The staff was knowledgeable, helpful, and positive. It's a small and exclusive place, but the weight was reasonable when we were there. You could tell that a lot of time and attention was put into their drink menu which rotates seasonally. Looking forward to going back and trying more of their signature cocktails.
This place is absolutely fantastic. The menu shows familiar drinks, but each of those is made uniquely with their own take on it. Every one we have tried has been fantastic. This is the best cocktail bar we have been to in OC.
I've been wanting to try this place for a while. It's been open a little over a year. It's super tiny, but everyone who works here is very attentive and welcoming. It's dimly lit inside, but has cute decor. Since it's so small, it does get really LOUD. It's definitely a little difficult to find. It's located inside Dick Church's Restaurant. There's a back entrance through the outside patio but you can enter through the front of the restaurant as well. They offer some small snacks (nuts, olives, bread and butter, and some tinned mussels). This is definitely up and coming. They offer seasonal drinks and change up the menu. Currently they're serving up their spring menu. Drink reviews: Pink lady: (4/5) This was refreshing and super easy to drink! Honestly could drink 2-3 of these they're so tasty. Blue lagoon: (4/5) This was also refreshing, you can definitely taste the citrus in it, lychee was a nice but subtle touch. Vieux Carré: (5/5) This was delicious! Similar to an old fashioned but aromatics and apple flavor. I could drink these all night. It's strong. Penicillin: (5/5) Mezcal and scotch drink. Definitely a sipper! It's delicious though. Old fashioned: (5/5) Can't go wrong with the classic. It was strong and smooth.
I booked a reservation for our anniversary. There wasn't a wait at 8pm on a Saturday but it did start to fill up. The speakeasy vibe was nice but it's tight quarters and if you're seated by people with loud voices, it's hard to get a conversation or order in. The first waiter we had was excellent and very knowledgeable, but I think he left for the night and the rest of the staff were quite busy. There was a lot of time in between drinks that the feeling didn't stay. I could tell lots of time and thought went into creating the drinks, but the overall experience and execution was a tad disappointing. I also thought it would be more space-themed but it's more vintage with a splash of some space stuff. It's a cool place if you want to get unique drinks in a friend setting and don't mind waiting a while between drinks, but maybe skip it if you're looking for a place to celebrate an anniversary. I'm used to speakeasies being quite attentive and this place left us feeling a little neglected so we left earlier than expected.
Food & drink: My husband ordered the Espresso Tonic & it was perfection. The foam was the ideal consistency so each sip had both foam & drink, never overpowering or messy. I tried the Angel Face, which was a bit more spirit-forward than I usually go for, but still balanced & beautifully made. We also grabbed an order of olives as a late-night snack, & they were fresh, briny, & the perfect little bite to accompany our drinks. Service: The service was exceptional from start to finish. Our bartender/server took the time to walk us through the cocktail menu in detail, breaking down each ingredient & flavor profile so we felt confident in our choices, even with such a bold & adventurous menu. She truly made the experience memorable with her warmth & knowledge. Ambiance & Vibe: This is a true speakeasy vibe–small, intimate, & lively. The size of the space means you can hear every conversation around you, which adds to the energy but could feel loud if you’re looking for something quiet. The lighting & cozy décor make it feel like a tucked-away find. Tip: bring a sweater, as it does run on the chilly side! Value & Price Point: For craft cocktails, the prices are exactly what you’d expect..& honestly, the level of service & quality made it feel like a bargain. Overall Impression & Tips: A hidden gem for anyone who loves a good cocktail adventure. Come ready to try something new, ask questions, & trust the bartender’s recommendations..you’ll be glad you did. Perfect for a date night or a casual nightcap after dinner.
To say P10neer is a "hidden gem" is an understatement—it is genuinely hard to find. Tucked away inside Dick Church's, there is no flashing neon sign pointing the way but there's usually a discreet light projection. You have to navigate through the restaurant's to find the nondescript entrance. It feels like a secret discovery, a true speakeasy that rewards those curious enough to look for it. The Atmosphere: Intentionally Dark and Intimate Once you slip inside, the contrast is immediate. You leave the restaurant noise behind and step into a world of shadow. The space is wonderfully dark, lit almost exclusively by candlelight and the soft, amber glow of the back bar. It creates a moody, seductive vibe that makes the rest of the world feel miles away. The Service: Passion and Perfectionism While the ambiance sets the stage, the bartenders are the true stars. I was blown away by the level of passion on display. Watching them work felt less like watching someone make a drink and more like witnessing a ritual. The staff here are absolute perfectionists. Every movement was deliberate. From the precise measurement of the spirits to the careful, almost surgical placement of the garnish, nothing was rushed or careless. Our bartender was visibly obsessed with getting the balance exactly right. They were also incredibly knowledgeable, explaining the history of the spirits with an enthusiasm that was contagious. The Verdict P10neer is the definition of a sanctuary. By hiding inside a restaurant, it preserves its quiet, serious character. If you value a place where the lights are low, the mood is high, and the bartenders are perfectionists who pour their soul into every glass, this is it. Highly Recommended.
