Beautiful place to visit in the Fall. We rented a cabin. The cabin was very cozy but FYI there was no oven. It had AC and heat. Water pressure was good. The staff was very helpful and informative and gave us lots of tips for local things to do. The clubhouse is huge! It had a pool table, air hockey, games and plenty of seating. The pool area was awesome and the pool was heated. It had lawn games all around the pool in the grassy areas. Loved the ice cream parlor and the lady running it! Maintainence was quick.
This place is run by druggies and irresponsible management. Corporate doesn't care if you complain so below is the numbers for the owner. Feel free to call as many times as you need to get action. This place was interesting and has some potential but also some issues we found. To begin with what we liked, the trails. We really liked the trails that are attached to the park. Even with the labor day weekend and everyone using their ATVs the trails were pretty quiet and I did not see any other person for the 3 days we were on the trails. Also there was some cool things to see on the trail like the gold mine. We ended up biking the trails which if you continue on into the wilderness area will take you to the El Dorado National Forest. There trails also eventually lead out to a fire road which if you continue on it will become paved and lead you back to the trail. On to the park: Though the park was kept pretty clean our camp site was not super kept up. There are little bits of plastic trash, also the BBQ that was there at the back of the camp had trash in it before we got there. This to me says that the employees are not going to the site after each check out and making sure that it is prepared for the next guest. That was also noted as the site next to us had people leave and they had left a rug. That rug stayed there for the following two days while we were there until we left. the site we were in (67) was super small and did not have any sewer hook ups. Granted we expected that the site was not going to have sewer hook ups so that was not a surprise. What was a surprise was that the power went out 2 times while we were there. The power was restored within about 30 minutes overall the first time. The other it came back on within about 5 minutes give or take. It did not go off again after that. All in all it was a nice place to come to especially since it is no cost for us as we are under our family's account. Though if we had paid for the membership then we would have been much more frustrated. If you come here don't expect the resort experience though if you come with the proper expectations you could have a great time.
Place definitely has major potential , but lacking professionalism with the management/Staff. It seems like if you're not a purchasee of the top tier package deal what you do receive is some negative looks and unwanted feelings.
I purchased an RV from La mesa RV and with that they included a free stay with CRA (Colorado River Adventures). I selected Ghost Mountain Ranch from the available list of locations. I was told there would be gifts for going there the first time.||I attended a sales pitch for what is sort of like a time share. I didn't realize what this was until I sat across from the salesperson (Brian - a wannabe rock and roll singer). They wanted me to pay 10K+ for a lifetime membership to the CRA resorts and other resorts. The salesperson (Brian) was an old rock and roll band player and little odd, but okay. We thanked him and told him no thanks for the membership, just not for us right now. Just for coming they gave us a $200 check and a 1 year "trial membership" for free to come back to this resort. ||We were unimpressed with the resort. The buildings were older; there was no sewer just fresh water and 30-amp service. The laundry mat that they touted had 5 older machine all with warnings on them that parts were on order, be careful with how you insert your money. I wonder how long those signs had been up... Due to the time of year, not a lot of people there.||The biggest and scariest issue is that CRA touts having 24x7 secure facilities. This could not have been further from the truth. Someone pulled into the space across from us in the dark at 8:00 at night (there was no guards at the gate and the gate appears to always be open after hours). These people left their headlights on and shined flashlights, both directly into our RV for an hour while they fumbled with unhooking their RV. When I asked them to be polite and turn off the lights, they got belligerent and yelled and screamed. So I'm thinking 24x7 security lets make some calls. multiple calls to the after hours number with no answer and no opportunity to leave a number. Multiple calls to the Front gate, no answer as I suspected as they were gone by 5:00. I left a message with their sales office asking for help - never got a call back even the next day.||Then I remembered i had the business card for Brian - the salesperson that tried to sell us the membership. I left a voice mail on his cell phone that he never returned. I then texted him explaining the situation and stating we needed someone out there because I was worried what these new neighbors might do given their complete lack of campground etiquette and the way they had spoken to me, and that they had come in after hours.||He ignored what I wrote and said call the afterhours number even though I had already texted that I had tried that multiple times and nobody answers. His next solution was to call 911. I texted - Really - you are selling a 10K membership, are supposed to have 24x7 security and your solution is to call 911.||The texts devolved from there - but this was the last text from Brian - the Ghost Mountain Ranch sales representative and representative of Colorado River Adventures (misspellings are intentional as this is an exact quote of his text).||"We're glad you didn't buy... It's a members only and you are just mad because you are overqualified... and know everything.. So your aq mooch and we paid for your free stay and gave you $200 and you complain".||Needless to say, we packed up and left very early in the morning. ||Folks - I rest my case. Don't go here, they don't care about you at all. I would never go to any CRA facility that keeps someone like this on staff and touts 24x7 security when they don't have it. ||So far - no apology whatsoever from Ghost Mountain Ranch or CRA. Shameful.
I recently tried to book a stay at Ghost Mountain RV Campground, but my experience was far from ideal. The park itself seems like it could be a great place to relax, but I ran into a major issue with their reservation process. Booking Process: To even make a reservation, you need to be a member of the park. While I understand some places have membership perks, I was disappointed to find that they couldn’t provide me with any clear details on how much the membership costs. I asked for information on the spot, but the staff seemed unsure and told me to call back the next day. Needless to say, this lack of transparency and helpfulness left me frustrated. Staff: Speaking of the staff, I have to say they were not particularly helpful. When I inquired about membership details, they didn’t offer any solid answers and seemed disinterested in assisting me further. I understand that staff can be busy, but I expected a bit more professionalism and knowledge when it comes to booking and pricing info. Facilities and Location: I didn’t get a chance to actually stay, so I can’t speak much to the amenities or the quality of the park itself. However, based on reviews I’ve seen online, the location seems pretty scenic, and the facilities are generally well-regarded. Overall: It’s frustrating when a park seems like it could be a great place to stay, but the booking experience is so complicated and unhelpful. If they could improve communication and be more transparent about their membership process, I’d be willing to give them another try. But for now, I’ll be looking elsewhere for my next stop.
Its a private rv park and place it was great was raining but beside that the people were pleasant has all you need and more me and the family will be returning asap.
