Galaxy Theatres Austin

I have been super disappointed with my recent Alamo Drafthouse experiences, so my friend invited me to Galaxy to see a movie that's no longer even showing at Alamo... which is a bummer. I was floored by how CLEAN this theater is. Huge screens, super comfortable seats, perfect temperature (I'm always cold at Alamo), and they had these funnel cake "fries" that were delicious. I bought food for my daughter and myself and didn't have to spend more than needed and we were both satisfied. Do they have burgers and cocktails? No. But they had plenty else to choose from. The bathrooms were sparkling clean, which might seem like a strange thing to mention, but in my book a sanitary restroom is worthy of recognition. The staff was lovely, THEY TAKE TAP PAY, and if you're a student, you can get a discount. Alamo needs to get it together, because Galaxy is putting them to SHAME where it matters most. If Galaxy offered showings of older movies, too, that would be super cool, but I don't know the inner workings of that kind of operation.

I loved this theater!! We usually go to Alamo due to its proximity to our home, but Galaxy really surprised me! The seats are so comfy and spacious, the screens are large, and they have a tiring aspect to it — so when you’re sitting the only thing in front of you is the screen. Makes such an immersive experience! Can’t wait to come back here!

We came for the Austin Film Fest to watch "Finding Solace" by Maurice Moore, Mo.tivate Pictures. This is an older theatre, but well kept and clean. Employees were nice, and restrooms were clean. We would visit again if in the area.

Had an amazing experience watching Zootopia 2 today with my mom! What made it better was a worker named Scott who took notice of my moms current mobility struggles and got her a seat closets to the door so she didn’t need to take the stairs. With his attentiveness my mom did not struggle with getting into the theatre and we had a great film watching experience! Our food was delicious and we can’t wait to come watch more movies here! We’ve been coming here for over 10 years but todays amazing service made me feel the need to write this review! Thank you Scott and Galaxy Highland!

Movie was great! (Deadpool+Wolverine) Popcorn was old. The theater room was warm and we had to tell the staff to turn AC on. (Felt like it wasn't). The staff was arguing in front of us. Not serious but unnecessary for us to hear. Love the seats! Soft leather and the reclining seats were good. Clean restroom.

Don’t get the pizza; it’s nasty. The best way I could describe it is that it feels like the ovens have not been cleaned in decades, and the smells transfer into the food. I couldn’t eat it. Too embarrassed to ask for a refund

Wow! Love this place! Super comfortable seats that recline and have trays with cup holders. D-Box seating also. Good selection of beer and wine at the concession stand. My visually impaired friend was able to get descriptive service headphones. Some comfy tables, early/special shows.
