Elder's Bookstore

This bookstore is a gem as rare as the books it houses. From newer used books to rare and antiquarian, there are treasures for just about any interest. The owner, Mr Elder, does demand some level of reverence and respect for the weight of the words housed in these pages and on these shelves (be quiet, and no cell phone use allowed, hence why I have no pictures inside the store). I found him to be very friendly and helpful after I took some time to quietly browse and show my respect for the store and the masterpieces within. He was very reasonable and even made a unique suggestion for me. I walked away with an 1855 Bible, an 1882 book on ministry, a commentary set, and a rare copy of Homer's Iliad. It was a great day and I'll be back plenty.

Wonderful bookstore. Went a little while back and found the exact books I was looking for. Love the care for southern culture and literature that is displayed, and Mr Elder was a delight to talk to. Will be back!

Randy Elder is a remarkable treasure of information and knowledge - we are so lucky to have him and his collection in Nashville.

What a gem of a bookstore Nashville has! Randy was extremely helpful and the selection of old books was amazing! From a 1750s prayer book to newer children’s books, there’s something for everyone.
