I loved the vibe of this place!! Classic dive bar (minus the pool and darts) with personality and graffiti from top to bottom. Came here for drinks on a Monday night and there were a few people but we had no trouble finding seating and ordering drinks. I had a Moscow mule which was, to my dismay, pretty strong. Would go again.
I was sobbing into the void about how bad I want egg nog. Shawn and Amethyst overheard and went on a mission to buy nog then made special cocktails for everyone at the bar!!! Changed my life NOG 4 EVER !!!! I ♥️ Library Bar 🌟
A great dive bar with perfect atmosphere to clear your mind. Personally can't complain about anything. The drinks are fairly priced, at the time of writing the Modelo was 7 dollars, there was a 4 dollar can beer but I didn't try.
No wonder they call this place "The Library" because you have about as much fun as if you were at an actual library. The bartenders are rude, they poured the wrong beer TWICE and then when they finally got it right the keg was clearly bad and they just looked at us and shrugged and said it was the right beer. Also the inside is so boring and dark it makes you feel like you could fall asleep. I’d never go here if you want to have a good time or have competent service when ordering.
I love this bar. I don't go to the Lower East Side as much as I used to but this is probably my favorite spot in that area. A great jukebox provides the perfect soundtrack for this throwback bar. Tables are located in the rear portion of the pub, where books line the shelves and movies play on the back wall. The bartenders keep the patrons in check and the vibe moving. I honestly cannot say enough good things about the bartenders. The clientele is varied and if you come with the right energy, you can definitely meet new people and have memorable conversations. Just a gem of a place that I hope never changes.
I order a negroni, it tastes "bad" let's say. I ask the bartender "What did you put in this?" She says "It's a negroni." I say, "It tastes kind of bourbon-y." She says, "I don't know what to tell you" and shrugs. I say, "You could tell me what you put in it." She walks away
One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a bar. I paid with a credit card, and the woman was extremely rude, saying the minimum charge was $20. I paid the $20, but after having a beer, I wanted to order a Negroni. She simply refused to let me pay the difference and was very rude in her service. Later, another staff member came over and basically told me I could either pay in cash or leave — in a completely rude and aggressive manner. I do not recommend this bar to anyone.
