It was well kept we came in threw a side entrance so we had to cross over water to get to other side but there was an entrance there also ... There was some people staying under the bridge edge of a trail. I think people should always travel safety in numbers we also had a dog basically in any park these days. I don't blame them it was beautiful and a great spot to post up. Most people don't bother you if you don't bother them we are all out here trying to function over all me and my family had a great time I think the dog had the best time of all us 🙂
The trails are small with heavy roots from beautiful big trees. Beautiful gem in Indianapolis! Went in a small hike with two friends and my 5 month old daughter. We all were very pleasantly surprised as to how much we loved it.
Very nice trails that leads to the water. So peaceful
Peaceful and Serene get away a pathway rocks and gravels Tall trees Full bushes Bridges A creek full of dragonflies that you can catch at an area to even lie down a blanket or two and a half lunch with a family. Like a getaway from The Real World We definitely will return.
Well maintained, clean sanctuary from the city. Took my 2 year old grandson for a hike to the water and threw some rocks in, followed by a nice picnic at a sheltered picnic table. Place was nice and quiet. Trails were in great shape. Picnic tables in good repair. Only "complaint" is that we could not find a potty.
Got a mass mailer asking me to donate money to the non-profit associated with this "nature preserve." Decided to visit again but it's still the same, off-leash nature park as before. An off-leashed, choke-collared dog ran at my girlfriend on a narrow trail and started barking at her but the owner still didn't leash him and just assured us he was "nice." Another off-leashed dog ran up at me and all the owner did was yell "down" to the dog. Typical Northside entitlement imposing on an otherwise pleasant place to walk.
I love hiking in Marrott park. I call it one of the hidden gems in Indianapolis because it's rarely packed full of people whenever I go. Maybe I pick good times? But it's a beautiful park just full of steep hiking trails and a creek so if you go be sure to wear grippy shoes! The creek is fun for wading in with kiddos in the summer!
