Wallet Island

A cool place. Only land part of the time. As long as you don't swim in the water, or expose it to open wounds, you're mostly fine. DFTBA.

Scenic, if trees interspersed with garbage is your thing. Access requires boating and the water contains giardia, which helps guard it from over-exploitation. ("Symptoms might include watery diarrhea alternating with greasy stools.") Check for flooding before visiting: see garbage and giardia, supra.

Disappointed it's in Indianapolis rather than the nicer white river on the west coast, but it seems to be a nice private island if you can tolerate a bit of Giardia.

Nice place to kayak up the White River from the drop in downstream to paddle up to and perhaps read and stretch the legs.

Once will I visit this magical island and enjoy the loud quietness, DFTBA
