Very nice walk around the perimeter of the water with views of the ocean, city, and marina. There was one large public restroom. One walk up, "take out" food place with the basics to hold you over.

Ala Moana Beach Park is a pretty big and convenient spot right in the heart of Honolulu. One of the best things about it is the location — it’s directly across the street from Ala Moana Center, so it’s super easy to grab something to eat, do a little shopping, and then head over to the beach to relax. I really enjoy picking up takeout from the mall and eating by the water while watching the sunset. The views are beautiful, and the water is calm and nice for swimming or just floating around. However, the beach itself isn’t perfect. The sand is a bit rough and not as soft as some of the other beaches on the island, and there are quite a few rocks when you go into the water, so you might want to wear water shoes. The park area is large and has plenty of space to walk, jog, or picnic, but it’s also known for having quite a few homeless people around. Most keep to themselves, but it can make the area feel a little uncomfortable, especially if you’re by yourself. I definitely wouldn’t recommend coming here alone at night. Overall, Ala Moana Beach Park is great for its convenience, accessibility, and sunset views, but it’s not the most peaceful or pristine beach on Oahu. Perfect for a quick dip or a lunch break by the water, but not necessarily a place I’d spend the whole day

The sunsets here are gorgeous. There are always beautiful people in the park doing some beautiful things like "bubbly therapy" or "dancing as the sun sets". It’s a great place to run and place for kids. Locals are always around and it makes it an integrative experience. I did Tai Chai one morning. The view of Diamond Head is sweet and the hotel strip. It’s a pretty chill beach and wonderful place to just hang and have some fun in the sun or after sunset.

Ala Moana has it's good points and bad...the actual beach has an awesome view of Diamond Head and Waikiki beach...the ocean is very calm next to the shore and some good 🐚 shells and rocks can be found You're able to see the sunset from start to finish ..There's a couple places to get a lunch plate at a reasonable cost...I always purchase a little cooler with wheels and bring ice, adult beverages and a few snacks before I head back to Washington I fill it full of food and drinks and leave it to Lloyd..a person who is housing challenged The homeless problem has been taken care of.A few homeless people hang out during the day but leave every night A few bad points are....the bathrooms need to be fixed up a little ...I see park workers trying to clean them daily but since they're next to a beach ..sand gets tracked in , giving the impression that they are dirty Parking on the weekend gets challenging I always go during the week...less crowded and plenty of good parking spots

I feel like this is a hidden gem in Oahu. The view is so beautiful here and the park was mostly empty when we went. We didn't go far into the park so we can't attest to the quality of the beach. But the grassy area was gorgeous enough.

A beautiful, relaxing park. Available, yet away from the hustle and bustle of the luxuryhotel beaches. Near great shopping and restaurants and fun food court just across the highway.

Our main purpose when we came here was to watch the Friday fireworks. This park is big and has nice views of the city. It’s also a great place to relax, hang out, read a book and walking or jogging It’s a great place for kids to play in the playground or run around. It’s has plenty of parking too and it’s also free but keep in mind that it gets busy during special events like the fireworks. Best to get there early. I recommend bringing picnic blankets and chair if you’re going to hang out for a bit. We were there a couple of hours before the fireworks mainly to get a good spot and get a good view. We brought some food and enjoyed an early dinner. Overall a nice park however just be aware of your surroundings as we’ve seen people with carts and tents on the other side. The public washroom wasn’t as great either, not well maintained but I guess it’s just like any other public park.
