Oak Cliff Nature Preserve

Well, all I can say is, this is an amazing spot for hiking. There are several loop paths that take you through the preserve. For most of the hike, you have no idea that you are in the middle of a city. I suggest downloading the trail map so you don’t get lost in there. They have a QR code on several of the path markers. I went on a Friday morning and only saw 3 other people on the trails.

They are for REALREAL on those paths, but most yell a warning as they approach to avoid violating a hiker and potentially runining their day, as well as yours. Ain't nobody got time for that mess. just be mindful when you're out there- mindful of all the beauty of nature around you but also mindful of the other "people" around you while there (or you're gonna have a bad time). But the place is so big, often i go without seeing a single soul. One could almost enjoy a naked hike on the well maintained trails, and feel the gentle breeze and warm sunlight on one's skin, rejuvenating and reinvigorating all that the previous week had managed to take. Solid trial for hiking, running or mountain bike riding. Only downside is there’s sometimes piles of trash off the trail that look like maybe a homeless person was there. Overall I feel pretty safe and the trail is used fairly often. It just needs to be cleaned up periodically. So long as that doesn’t bother you it’s honestly a nice little day hike in Dallas. Great for trail running and lots of shade.

It was my first time there and I throughly enjoyed the trails. Alot of decent inclines and declines but overall a good leisure hike. I definitely feel bikers would enjoy it alot. I wish people would stop throwing trash in or around hiking trails. We all should respect nature and help keep it clean. So happy to see good clear signs posted that help guide us through the trails. Yes, there are some areas that are a bit sketchy but, if you bring a buddy you should be okay. I definitely would go back and with my family again.

This place is amazing for a quiet and peaceful nature walk. Many people go with their dogs off leash because it's normally very quiet. There's beautiful overlooks into the five mile creek, extensive trails, and it's very clean. This is my favorite park in Dallas.

I’ve been running on these trails longer than any others in the area, and it has come a long way since I started. The reverse, clockwise signage for pedestrians is now excellent, so I can run facing oncoming bikers. There are quite a few orphan or work trails that can be confusing to a newbie, but the actual loops are mostly well-designated and well-maintained.

This has been one of my favorite trails in Dallas so far, besides all the trash throughout the trails. I started with the light colored trails first, Next time I will start with the dark colored trails. There are colored marks and signs,but you really have to pay attention to them or will travel the same trail twice I love the hills and rock stairs, it gives it that intensity! I finished the trails in a little over 2 hours. There are separate trails for bikes, but not all bikers use them, so be mindful of that. The trails have bike ramps and quit a few bridges you have to cross. A lot of trees along the trails are color code to pair with the trail you are on and there are QR trail codes you can scan There is what appears to be a homeless encampment somewhere by the trail, but I didn't see any homeless people. Overall great hike! I will definitely be going back
