The Fenway Garden Society

It’s absolutely inspiring to see what you can do with such a small plot! The historical context of the space makes it that much more enjoyable, but the flowers and fruits you’ll experience along your journey through the narrow pathways is something you’ll take with you long after your visit is complete.

This place is truly special. This particular plot was my favorite. Lots of beautiful gardens here. Nice to visit on a weekend as a bunch of folks are working on their gardens.

The Fenway Victory Gardens are the only remaining continuously-operating World War II Victory Gardens in the United States.

As a nature lover, I have to say that this place at times really sweeps me off my feet. When everything is blooming, it's just a magical place to walk through. Some plots are better taken care of than others, which is the only think I don't like about this place. Some plots really look like ugly garbage dumps. 🌷

It is very cool to see the diversity of the individual plots. As others have pointed out, some are meticulously groomed and cared for, while (thankfully just a few) others are slightly less well taken care of. There are enough trees scattered around to grant some basic relief from the summer sun, and the rows have wood chips laid down for walking through, so mud and dirt are at a minimum. The garden's colors are beautiful. No real facilities, including seats of any kind, so this may be a destination where you need a green thumb to enjoy it fully.

The community gardens are gorgeous! Everyone kept their little area so nice and pretty. Depending on where you are walking from, some walkways have puddles of mud.

The Victory Gardens are something so special and magical. Be sure to see them in the summer when in full bloom, so beautiful.
