For skippers: $99 for a 2 hour rental. 4 person maximum. The company rigs the boat for you and they can help you launch out. They only somewhat interview you to ensure you are skilled enough to take a boat out. I noticed a number of inexperienced sailors out there. I wish they gave me a briefing of the shallow areas, wind conditions, and the current tide. Instead I researched that on my own.
This was a perfect location for the 4th of July. Definitely money well spent as it goes toward all of the good work this organization does. Unbeatable views of the fireworks.
Really nice experience! Friendly staff, the girls from the front desk were really helpful, and Noah was great with all the information. Affordable way to sail (I don’t know about beginners) affordable price: $85 - 2-hour Cape Cod Mercury Rental (up to 4 ppl) And $119 - 2-hour Rhodes 19 Rental (up to 5 ppl) I really enjoyed my experience over here, I used to sail a lot, literally 4-5 days a week for 7 years, and it’s good to be back.
I went sailing with friends at community boating many times, always had a good time there. The staff were very friendly and helpful.. They always looked happy. It made me happy about my sailing. The boats and sails were clean and always in good conditions. The life jackets may not very clean, but better than what availability at other sailing/boating places. When sailing in the river, wind blows by and view is so beautiful. It was always a joyful experience.
This is a review just for kayaking: On a beautiful Sunday, we wanted to kayak. Unfortunately, we went to another sailing pavilion that was unfortunately closed and then tried Community Boating. The office / guest services area inside is pretty well staffed and they have bathrooms and lockers so seemed promising. Unfortunately after you pay it becomes clear the main intent of this place is sailing. If you want to do anything else, do not come here. I had to chase multiple people down for us to get assistance with getting paddles and we had to go out into the water on our own with little to no direction. In the end, we didn't even get to spend the full 2 hours you pay for out on the water because it took so long to get setup on our own. Don't come here for anything but sailing!
There were a lot of wild chickens here the other day when i ran by here. I could not believe my eyes! These wild cute little chickens just out and about. All my friends tell me they are not wild chickens but I have access to google and I educated myself and yes they are wild chickens 🐓🐣🐥🍗🐔🐤
By far the best membership anything that exists in Boston. $400 gets you a whole year of sailing, kayaking, paddle boards or wind surfing, and classes to get you going. The volunteers are all generally wonderful and getting your sailing ratings is easy and straight forward. Couldn't be happier to be a member.
