I am so grateful for the kindness I received today. I don't know the name of the person who helped me with things I needed help with on the computer and also helped me with the process of receiving food from the food pantry but this person was so kind and helpful and courteous throughout. I came out in 1985, hence, I'm old and isolated and have no idea how to learn how to determine the preferences of he, him, she, her, them, they, people that I engage with during my few interactions with people, so please be patient with those of us who respect your identity but don't know how to address you unless or until you specify. I am among you and mean no disrespect. This is why I am referring to the person who helped me as the person. Moving on... I met Robert today while I was there and he is an absolute gem. What a blessing and perfect timing. Even though I am currently in need of the help given to me today by the Henderson Equality Center, I hope to become someone who can give back to this resource and this community in a meaningful way.

I am a 23 year old trans man trying to start T, the doctor talked to me like I was 3, despite having two degrees. He said I would need to take several medications before I could even try to start T, despite having perfect white blood cell count, (along everything else) besides my cholesterol, which is also high for my mom and dad. I also have PCOS which makes taking off weight hard and am trying to remove my inner organs so I don’t have those problems anymore. Does not understand PCOS at all. Treated me like a mentally ill unstable person. If you want someone who actually gives a shit don’t go to this doctor. Maybe if you’re a gay man, but for trans care they suck.

Treated with distain and judgement. Not what I expected... Definitely don't recommend! As a seasonal worker I travel and work in different states. Utah being one of them. I know where I went and seriously doubt they have a equality center in Utah. I volunteered at food banks in Big Sky Montana, and the Grand Canyon and I've never treated nor seen anybody treated the way I was treated that day. Your response says it all! Hater!

If I could give zero stars I would. This place is the WORST. The staff is rude, condescending and gatekeepers. The male nurse is misogynistic, and requires unnecessary documentation from therapists for gender affirming care. This is not necessary and he admitted it was his rule and not the law. The mansplaining from a man to a woman about their own body had me walking out of the exam mid way through.

I just went get food and the director Chris Devin screamed and yelled at me for not having a bag with me. He was the rudest person he says I am giving you food the least you can do is bring a bag with you and he was screaming at me in front of everybody. I think he should be removed from the position because he is a very poor person of judgment to treat people with need ,kindness

I go there once a week with my cousin to get food from their food pantry. We each get a reusable grocery bag filled with different food items, it varies from week to week. Sometimes we each get frozen food items such as meat or frozen veggies. Very friendly staff

The resources they spend on food bank, would better be spent elsewhere. Water, green beans and applesauce will not help hungry clients.
