Memory Grove

I visited from Florida to meet my long distance boyfriend for the first time. After ensign peak, this is the second trail he took me on. The park was beautiful, families having picnics, lovely memorials on the trail and so many dogs a long the trail as well. I’m from Florida so at most we have small hills, I’ve been on plenty of trails down here but nothing compares to Utah. The trails are so clean and well maintained. It made me appreciate Mother Nature so much more. There was a bunch of creeks with little waterfalls and even though they were tiny, I’d never seen a waterfall in my life so I was just in awe taking in all the gorgeous views. Saw many dogs jumping in the water, and running along the trail. Such divine nature, kind people, and the prettiest dogs of all different breeds. If you ever visit Utah I recommend this trail a long with ensign peak because they are definitely beginner trails. I’ll be back in November though and I am so ready to take on the harder trails and hikes. I really had so much fun! Thank you Utah for all your picture perfect views!

⭐️ Memory Grove Park – Peaceful and Beautiful Spot Near the Utah State Capitol 🇺🇸🌳 A very well-kept and peaceful park just below the Utah State Capitol. 🌿 There are large grassy areas, plenty of benches to sit and relax, and small streams and ponds running through the park. 💧 You can walk directly down the stairs from the Capitol and explore the monuments, fountains, and memorials along the way — including tributes honoring fallen soldiers. 🕊️ Free entry, scenic views, and calm atmosphere make it a perfect stop for a relaxing walk or quiet reflection. 🏞️✨

Such an amazing park. There are a ton of squirrels and mice roaming the grounds. Along with tiny spiders on the benches - so be careful where you sit so you don’t disturb them!

One of the many parks in Salt Lake City, located not too far from the Capitol building. It was busy with people and lots of dogs (all getting along and having fun). A stream cuts through the park, creating a relaxing and peaceful space. There are several displays that commemorate the spirit of freedom and liberty in our country. The installations invite you to reflect on these foundational ideas. Some of the installations were in disrepair and could benefit from some TLC. Still, it’s worth a visit.

Such a lovely walk! The route takes you past some really nice houses, which is fun to admire, and then winds into a gorge with switchback trails that give the hike a little edge. By the time you reach the top, you’re rewarded with amazing views of the state house and the city—it’s a great payoff. The combination of quiet streets, natural scenery, and city sights makes it a well-rounded little adventure. It’s easy enough for a casual walk but still feels like you’re getting something out of it. I’d recommend it for a relaxing morning or afternoon stroll, especially if you like a mix of architecture, nature, and panoramic city views. One of those walks where you keep thinking, "Wow, I didn’t know this spot existed!"

One of my all time favorites in downtown Salt Lake City. It’s a must do if you’re here and want a quick walk in a very shaded (sometimes busy) place. City creek stream runs through this place. It’s a very easy hike with off shoot dirt hiking path ways through out. We stayed on the paved road and the dogs had a ton of fun. Parking is street parking in the neighborhood so that sucks and it fills up fast. There are 3 sections: lower middle top. These pictures are of the middle which has a huge green space and pond and memorials to fallen soldiers and the top. No cars allowed in these 2 sections. The lower section is a small area on the north east corner of state street and north temple. Lots of trees and sitting areas there but small. It’s worth the 2minute walk east get to the middle section. No bathrooms and no water refill stations. So carry your own and hug a tree if you need to.
