Hugh Taylor Birch State Park

I visited Hugh Taylor Birch State Park recently, and it was a really peaceful escape from the city. The trails are easy to walk, and I loved seeing the variety of wildlife—especially the turtles and birds around the lagoon. The beach access is convenient, and it wasn’t too crowded when I went. I spent a couple of hours just walking, sitting by the water, and enjoying the quiet. It feels very natural and well-kept, without being overdeveloped. Overall, it’s a nice spot if you want a calm, green break while in Fort Lauderdale.

Love this park! So many things to do. You can enjoy the Beautiful scenery, ride bikes, kayak, manatee watch by the intercoastal, enjoy the restaurant on site (good food with a view of the beach), which is also where you can rent kayaks or bikes. There are also many benches throughout the park, picnic tables, and nature trails.The beach is right across the street. I definitely recommend visiting.

Nice park. Best thing about it, and the first time I've ever seen this, were the stations allowing visitors to grab a green bucket and a picker and go trash mobbing! See the photos. I wish all parks had these stations. There are pretty trails and paths to walk, beautiful old banyan trees, live animal education shows (we saw Cinnamon the gopher turtle, the most frustrated turtle in the world. They bring Cinnamon outside to the same place to dig, and she digs and digs and digs and gets kind of far, and then they take her back inside and fill in her hole, only to bring her back out the next day and start all over again. She's been doing that for about 3 years so far.) There's a meditation garden, and nice benches along the canal where you can sit and look at multi-million dollar homes. The beach was really nice and we got to see a woman walking her dog who was wearing a shark fin life vest. We thought it was just a costume, but she told us her dog loves to swim -- but he sinks like a stone, so he has to wear a life vest! If you go into the restaurant at this park, called The Grove, be aware of the automatic 20% service charge they tack onto your bill.

This is a wonderful park! You can spend the whole day walking along the shady paths, enjoying the fresh air, and taking in the beautiful views of the canal. There are picnic spots available, and it’s very convenient to park here if you want to spend the day at the beach. $6 per day for parking is a fantastic price.

Nice park on inter-coastal with loop walk & access to ocean beach. There is a lot of work being done on facilities to improve park, plan accordingly, as most restrooms are under construction. Some areas are rutty & muddy due to construction, but easily navigable. Plenty of parking day I was there. There are places to park big rigs(RVs) both in back parking lot & along inter-coastal. There is a bar/restaurant accessible from park and a visitor center. @kaleb_and_lucas_adventures

A lovely nature nook nestled in Fort Lauderdale's hustle & bustle! When we drove in ($6/car) they gave us a map & there's a large parking lot (easy & free). You can also walk in if your hotel is close. We asked an older gentleman about how to best view the park and he was so nice, telling us to drive the 2 mile loop or walk or both! We started out along the water and saw a group of manatees! It was truly amazing! We then ate lunch at the Grove (which is in the park) and our hostess was so sweet, the food was great & came out quickly and hot! Definitely recommend the quesadilla and salad. Our server even put my shrimp on the side because my husband & I were sharing the salad. The whole visit was a highlight of our trip!

Overall, a really cool experience nature trail just steps from the beach. Unique plants and trees, and massive spiders hanging from them. Stick to the paved path, unless you have bug spray. DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE. They unfortunately love me and I got 25 bites in roughly 10 minutes. If you walk in there without bug spray, you are a mosquito’s next big feast. Starting at the beach is probably recommended, so you can end there naturally. There were people riding bikes through here, which is something I would do if I visited again.
