It's a lovely place to walk when the weather is nice. Numerous boats and ferries are docked here, offering a beautiful view of the Potomac River and National Harbor. The open area has plenty of benches to sit on while enjoying the scenery. You can watch people walking by and boats sailing on the river. Waterfront Park is located right next to it, and many restaurants and coffee shops are nearby. The Torpedo Art Factory is behind the harbor, and Old Town Alexandria is just a few steps away.
Nice view and fancy waterfront with expensive restaurants and local attractions but not sure about fully full scale boat place. Rather small boat place for a rich neighborhood. Nice to be a summer time, maybe autumn but nothing much other than that.
Nice place .it's a lot of fun walking around with our little one. The views are awesome, there are many great restaurant options, and there are often fun activities. It's well maintained and clean-sometimes parking is difficult but only if you're looking for free parking. There were multiple options of restaurants,coffee-and ice-cream.
It was flooded at the time with all the rain from the past couple of days, but it was still enjoyable and a lovely walk around the harbor.
The old seaport section of Alexandria, the Old Town Alexandria, is a great place to visit with a free trolley on King Street that would get you around the area. But I would suggest you walk on its cobblestone streets and enjoy the historic buildings that abound. According to history, Alexandria’s riverfront was an important colonial port during the colonial, revolutionary and Civil War periods, dating back to 1749. The Potomac river is beautiful, so enjoy the walk. If you happen to be there at sunset, you will love the place even more. There are a variety of guided tours available including cruises on the Potomac River, horse drawn carriage rides, ghost tours, and historic walking tours.
Great place for an evening by the riverside. Food joints of all variety and class. The view at night across the river with the giant wheel and the rec centers lit up grandly, is exotic. There are ferries which take you on a fun ride on the river for a fee.
It’s nice and peaceful here in a Monday when most of attractions are closed in the area. A good time for a walk by the water.
