Christina, a bartender on Tuesday was so rude. She was racially profiling elme and my boyfriend because she thought she thought we wasn't going to tip after one drink but when I was going to she was rude and everyone there took her side. It's crazy how the bartender was rude and yelling and threatening us but we have to leave when we been members for 4 years plus. Just crazy
This place… where to start? They think that it’s an elite club. It’s not. Lucky if they get half full. Not sure what happened in the last few months but all the bartenders got gross and rude. Prices have gone up but still has that rundown look and feel. Been here with a gf. It would be strange to come here now. It’s an unpersonable place now and ironically more sketchy than before. I will not bring anyone here again. They blame the men (reason why this place is even open) but it’s really their new backwards practices. Karaoke (used to be free and super busy) is super quiet and lame. Avoiding this spot from now on.
Just got the cops called on me and ask to leave because I didn't tip. Christina was very rude, she cuss me out and threatened me. Everyone took her side because we were the only black people there.
We have found our new party place! Excellent Friendly staff! Awesome music to dance the night away! Bartenders make the best drinks! Always have our favorite liquors stocked. The crowds always have electric vibes. And the best part....I have not experienced ANY Drama WHAT SO EVER!
Went Saturday night 9/1/24. Had some beers and closed my tab before midnight. Just looked at my account and have two charges totaling 140.00. Didn’t buy a membership because my buddy paid for entry. I’m headed there tomorrow before I go back home! Beware!!!!
Typically I don't leave reviews but I felt like one needed to be made. I started coming to Ludus earlier this year with my boyfriend. We have been members for 8+months and counting. First visit, we met the staff and got the feel of the place and met some locals. Second visit, talked to the same people and branched out for a few more. Just like anywhere you go, you have to get to know people. We have learned the locals from the newcomers and have fallen in love with this place. Never for a second have we felt uncomfortable or threatened. Women prey on men just like men prey on women so the single men that attend, they are just as entitled to be there as the women. The bartenders have been nothing shy of perfection. You treat them the way you want to be treated. That's how life is supposed to work. The security there is top notch and nothing happens without someone seeing it. We have our favorite staff and our favorite DJs just like we would at a normal club back home but we have embraced the culture here and it's never felt unwelcoming to us. A lifestyle event is what you make of it. This is a mix and mingle place and we love that about it. The owners and the original founders are absolutely amazing. They do host parties here for other groups that are not directly apart of the club as they do not work there. Anything that happens at Ludus is not a reflection of Ludus but of all individuals as a person. We love attending the themed events here and love spending time with all the locals and newcomers. Staff has never been out of line to us and haven't worried about our safety. I've read other reviews on this establishment and unfortunately people think if you go to a party you should expect something in return, that's not how life works. Also, names used previously do not work for this establishment and shouldn't be a reflection of Ludus. I always say "I'm Switzerland" because I am my own person and unless you have wronged me or I have seen no wrong doings, there is no wrong that I can account for. I have never felt unsafe or unwanted here. Just always remember. You get the energy back that you put out. With love Ludus.....- M and J
Update: The only reason I’m posting another review is to protect my anonymity — because speaking up in this community comes with retaliation. And sure enough, the second I did, the mockery and name-calling started. From a group that claims to be about "openness and safety"? What a joke. I reported the incident when it happened. Steven laughed it off. "It’s just how he is when he’s been drinking, I’ve got him." That’s not leadership — it’s negligence. Even worse? Another man had been escorted out for the exact same complaint, and Steven gave the same excuse. This is a pattern, not an isolated event. Now that I’ve gone public, suddenly it’s "Let’s talk." Spare me. You had your chance — and you blew it. Being called "fake" for not messaging the same person who dismissed me while I was vulnerable? That’s not fake. That’s self-respect. Meanwhile, the hate in the comments has been disgusting. Not one owner or representative has spoken up to stop it. That’s not neutrality — that’s complicity. So if this is what "community" looks like here — where speaking up makes you the problem — I want no part of it. I’m not here to make you comfortable. I’m here to speak the truth. If that truth makes you squirm, maybe it should. This bar/club however you'd like to label it is definitely colorful, but not in a good way. I’ve been here twice, and after my second visit, I can say with absolute certainty: NEVER again. A few weeks back, I attended what was supposed to be a fun, friendly event hosted by a local lifestyle group a "lock and key" party. I had heard good things and was genuinely looking forward to it. I even met some great people during my first visit, which made me hopeful. But that hope was short-lived. The event was uncomfortable from the start. I was introduced to the event manager (and possibly co-owner), Steve, who was eager to talk about his involvement but his behavior and the overall vibe of the night made me feel incredibly unsafe. I was repeatedly touched inappropriately on my backside by the DJ and several other men, none of whom had any permission to do so. When I brought it up to the event host, I was brushed off with a laugh and told, "That’s just his nature." I'm sorry what? Sexual harassment is not a personality trait. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the staff selling 50/50 raffle tickets were some of the most rude, arrogant, and judgmental people I’ve ever encountered in a hospitality setting. Zero professionalism. Zero class. And let’s talk about that "lock and key" game. When I asked what it was about, Steve became weirdly pushy toward all the single women, pressuring participation whether we were comfortable or not and did nothing to ensure the men were respectful in any way. It was giving predatory, not playful. With people like this running events — or the venue itself — this is absolutely NOT a safe space for women, vixens, or frankly anyone expecting a baseline level of respect and consent. If you value your safety, your boundaries, or just a decent night out — steer clear.
