Holiday Inn Express Manhattan Times Square South by IHG

We came from Chile, and one week before our arrival, we communicated with the hotel. Their response was fast and great. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, the staff was awesome with us, very polite and helpful. Housekeeping did a great job as well. We stayed for two weeks, and with such a long time, a lot of bad experiences can happen; however, we didn't have any bad situations, and everything was pretty great. I am sure that next time this will be my hotel again. Kudos to the staff!

Positive: The location and the free breakfast were the only likes. Negative: No working automatic entry door for the lobby. Our sheets upon entering the room had BLOOD on them and when front desk staff was notified they were very unconcerned. The overall look and condition of the lobby and room was very run down.

This a more than fine place to stay but the rooms and hotel property are average in every way. You stay here for the fantastic location. Close to a subway and tons of food options in a very safe area. The rooms was adequate even if small but that’s Manhattan for you. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room could use an update, however. The tv is small and old. The closet is bulky and inconveniently placed. There is no fridge or microwave. Controlling the heat and cooling wasn’t very good, either. And the shower spray came out on a slightly inconvenient way. I know it sounds like I may be complaining but despite all that it was a perfectly fine place to stay. None of them were that bad. All could just be slightly better. The elevator was fairly quick. The housekeeping wasn’t the best and the facilities like rugs, lobby and room decor could definitely be modernized but I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. I come to NYC to enjoy the city, not sit in the room. If you’re not super picky then you’ll enjoy this hotel. It’s a solid choice. No major issues. Overall 7.5/10

This is my 4th time visiting New York and 2nd time staying at this hotel. Breakfast is very nice! Rooms are clean and comfortable. I wished the beds were bigger but it worked. Is well located and staff is super nice. I highly recommend this hotel.

We were two in the room. For one person, there is enough space, but for two, it is very small. The room is quite cleaned. We were there for 6 nights, and one day the service didn’t clean or room. We didn’t have problem with that so we didn’t complain about it. If we complained, I guess they would have cleaned the room. What we didn’t like is that we ran out of shampoo and the service didn’t refill it. The hotel in general wasn’t so cleaned. One day we saw the service with the trash of garbage in one of the two elevators. The breakfast was very good and complete. Internet access and TV was OK. All the staff is great and very kind. The 36th St, between the 8th Ave and the 5th Ave, in general, has a lot of clubs and restaurants and is very dirty. I reccommend having breakfast until 8 am, because after that the room is very crowded and you won’t have a desk. We had a good experience, so far.

My wife and I booked a stay from 1/6/26-1/12/26. On the morning of the 11th we discovered live juvenile and adult bedbugs in the room. We alerted the hotel front desk staff to the issue and they moved us to another room and comped the night of the 10th. The front desk staff said a manager would be contacting us during the work week to discuss additional compensation. No one contacted me until I filed a formal complaint with IHG Corporate. The Assistant Manager, Maria finally contacted me on the 20th and said they would not be refunding the other 4 nights we spent in the room or paying for our decontamination costs to treat our property because their pest control inspection the day after we left didn't find any evidence of bedbugs. I provided them with geotagged and timestamped photos of the bedbugs and captured a live one for hotel staff to confirm. Apparently this isn't good enough proof that they provided a room with bed bugs. No one should stay here. This experience ruined what should have been a great vacation for my wife and I and cost us additional money. If you stay in a hotel in a big city bedbugs are a risk, but I'm incredibly disappointed with the hotel and their response to this situation.

A decent hotel in a great location! Only a few minutes walk from Times Square as well as the Empire State Building. This is by far the better location between the other Holiday Inn’s in Manhattan. The rooms and overall hotel are little outdated but not disgusting. The breakfast buffet was well stocked and better than most other basic buffets. The most annoying part is that the A/C/Heat Unit couldn’t be controlled even though there was a remote in the bathroom to change it.
