Oscar is an incredibly kind person who genuinely cares about guests. My brother and I went to pick up our order and didn’t realize we had ordered too much pizza, so our hands were completely full. Oscar immediately stepped in and offered to help us without us even asking. What really stood out was that he wouldn’t even accept a tip, which shows how sincere and thoughtful he truly is. He also took the time to talk with my brother about the property, listened carefully, and gave us helpful recommendations. It’s refreshing to see that there are still genuinely kind people out there. The front desk staff member, whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch, was also very kind. I was eating in the lobby and before I even asked where the trash bin was, he noticed and kindly showed me. The mansion is beautiful and the staff are truly on point. Thank you, Oscar,you deserve a raise! I would absolutely stay here again!

The Hayes Mansion is a historical property that's incredibly lovely and well maintained. The Palm and Ember restaurant has some delicious food options, including Vegan selections. There's also a lovely library room where they have tea service in the afternoons that's also a terrific place to enjoy a glass of wine and a snack. The rooms are lovely and updated. There's a swimming pool and hot tub for the guests to enjoy. The grounds are large, green and lovely!

The hotel had a peaceful atmosphere that made my stay very relaxing. My room was spotless and offered a lovely view. Every staff member I met was professional and kind. The breakfast area was clean and had plenty of good choices. An excellent option for travelers looking for comfort.

Positive: The pool was great. Streaming options on the rooms? TV?s have improved. Negative: All complaints are minor.1. Bathtub drain was slow.2. Shampoo supplied in bathroom did not distribute well into one?s hair when applied.3. Toilet paper roll holder did not function; had to leave roll on countertop.4. Room?s fridge wasn?t cold enough.

We enjoyed our wedding celebration here! We have returned for our anniversary this year, and it has been so lovely despite the cold. This beautiful hotel is nicely situated far from all the noisy places and busy streets of San Jose. I love that it is nicely located in a quiet neighborhood area. We enjoyed the food, the well equipped gym, the game room with family, friendly service and all it offers. We will return again.

Reasonably priced rooms in an old mansion setting. Probably the best hotel in San Jose for dogs. Plenty of grass areas and adjacent park. Nice staff - Jackie at the front desk was exceptional. She changed us to a ground floor room (for the dog) and was very nice about it. It's an event space, both times we stayed here included large weddings and a Google party (lot of fancy cars). None were noisy. On site restaurant was very good.

I travel here frequently for business (over a dozen stays now!) and Hayes Mansion is my go-to. It offers the perfect balance: the service is highly efficient for work, but the atmosphere feels like a relaxing resort rather than a standard high-rise. The property is always well-maintained, but my recent stay near Christmas was stunning. The decorations were incredible—it really shows how much care they put into the property to create a warm, festive vibe for guests. Most importantly, the staff makes the difference. The restaurant and bar are great, and the breakfast team is super nice—they truly make me feel at home when I’m away from home. A huge thank you to Erin Beadle and her team for running such a wonderful operation.
