Caravelle Inn & Suites W&E

Positive: I expected very little and it didn't even live up to that. This is by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. We wanted to leave immediately after seeing the room. The only positive was the girl at the front desk was pleasant. Negative: Scuzzy and run down doesn't do it justice! And there was no fridge, coffee maker or microwave as advertised. We killed 2 roaches in our room! Run down & disgusting, not worth $---! Debated on sleeping in our car instead cuz it was so grimy/outdated.Worst!

Before my stay, the reviews made me very anxious and worried about what to expect. However, my experience was completely different. The room was clean, comfortable, and free of bugs. The bathroom was clean, the shower had great water pressure and hot water, and the heater worked very well. This is not a luxury hotel, but for the price, the value is excellent. Some of the negative reviews seem overly harsh based on my experience. I would stay here again.

I've stayed in some pretty awful places before, but this was the worst of them. The room was awful. It smelled terrible, the wallpaper was coming off in the bathrooms, the wall outlets were half removed, the TV remote didn't work. Who knows what lived in the carpets and towels. I shudder to think. The room had been broken into before. The screen was still half pried open, and the window lock was one of those cheap aluminum and thumb screw things. It was advertised as having a microwave and fridge, but they were in the office...which doesn't open until 7AM, so I had to leave my breakfast there when I left. The router had been stolen, so there was no wifi. No big, I wouldn't have used it anyway. Just another thing that was wrong. This is one of those monthly places, so you get what you get. as in, the room next door had people in it partying until late. containers with the lids cut off to collect the AC condensation on all the units was a nice touch. lol Oh, and the kitty litter My boss is going to hear it from me for booking a room here. Next time I'll choose. Unless you need a place to party on the cheap, I'd steer clear.

Experience – They Kept My Deposit for No Reason! I stayed at the Caravel Inn in San Jose for two days, and honestly, it was a disappointment from start to finish. The place is old and outdated, and the service was terrible. I take pride in cleaning up after myself — I cleaned that room top to bottom, took the linens off, folded everything neatly, and left it in better condition than I found it. I always do this to make sure I get my deposit back. But they kept my deposit anyway and never gave me a reason why! I emailed them through Booking.com asking for an explanation and never got any response. The staff wasn’t friendly either. On my second day, I asked for fresh towels around 11 AM, and the maid told me they didn’t have any towels. How does a motel not have towels ready when rooms are supposed to be getting cleaned? It’s not right to treat paying guests this way. I would never stay here again or recommend this place to anyone. They took my money and didn’t even have the decency to explain why.

My experience at this hotel was very negative. From the moment I entered the room, I noticed it was in poor condition: some walls were damaged and the blanket was torn. What was most concerning was that the window curtains and part of the carpet had stains that appeared to be blood, which is completely unacceptable in terms of cleanliness and hygiene. At the time of check-out, when I returned the key, the staff accused me of leaving a blood stain on a towel, which is completely false. The room already had visible stains on the carpet and curtains before my departure. I believe it is very unfair to try to hold me responsible for a condition that clearly existed beforehand. Cleanliness, maintenance, and transparency should be a priority for any establishment. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing and unprofessional.

Pros: you can lock the door and keep yourself safe while you sleep Cons: melting wires, no fridge, no microwave, no overhead light, a minimum of dead roaches, torn carpets, peeling wood veneers, peeling wallpaper. But hey, it has a working TV! You need your own accounts to watch things like netflix, though. Would only recommend if spending the extra $20 on a better place means you have to skip tomorrow's meal

Do not stay here, especially with children or after a long work day. My room was freezing because the heater was broken. When I went to the reception to ask for an extra blanket or to have it fixed, the owner told me she "couldn't do nothing about it, even if I was cold." Unacceptable. To make matters worse, the room was moldy and disgusting. I know the saying "you get what you pay for," but basic functioning heat and a non dismissive attitude are the absolute minimum. Avoid this place at all costs unless you have no other choice and are prepared for a miserable night🙄
