Loved our stay! My partner and I were here for 5 nights and loved everything about this Inn. The homemade vegetarian quiche every morning was a highlight, as well as the wonderful hot tub that made the chilly SF evenings such a joy. Marty, the owner, was fun to chat with and made coming back to the hotel, feel more like coming home. The rooms were cozy and comfortable, and a great place to rest/relax. I also loved the location as it was easy to get around and close to Valencia street with tons of good food and bars, but not close enough to get all the noise. The past few times I flew to SF for work trips, I stayed in the fancy hotels downtown, but they always feel so sterile and boring. This inn made me happy to come back to my room each evening. Definitely would recommend!
We stayed in the Room 40 Cottage. My two adult girls stayed in the larger room and I stayed in the smaller one. That provided the privacy I wanted for them. And warmed comforters were provided as we got settled in! The feather beds were very comfortable and the Victorian decor all around was fantastic--especially as we donned our Victorian outfits the next morning to attend The Great Dickens Christmas Fair that was just 20 minutes away. I got up early to enjoy the most generous and delicious buffet breakfast ever!!! The selections were amazing. I met and chatted with Marty, the owner in the parlor where they had the breakfast items, and he was a delight. We talked and shared for an hour and a half as I awaited the girls getting up and dressed. He shared a lot of details about the house and later, I shared it with the girls as Marty had to leave. They were probably most thrilled with the roof deck patio up the spiral staircase over the fourth floor. Amazing views of the city!!! I highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast home. It is unique, and in the Victorian times they would also call it splendid, marvelous, capital, fetch, and awful (in its original meaning of "awe-inspiring") 🙂
The Inn San Francisco was such a great experience! We were visiting SF with some friends - who opted to stay at a Marriott by the airport. Talk about different experiences. You walk inside the big mansion and it's like your transported into another world. They did a great job of maintaining the Victorian moodiness of the place. Soft classical music plays in the background. Old pictures and artwork line the walls. Our room was spacious and clean - could not have asked for anything else. Marty was an absolute treasure to talk to! We will definitely be back once we make it back to San Francisco.
We went here with my mother in law, husband and our 1.5 year old to celebrate her birthday and do all the touristy things. We were able to walk 12 mins to the BART or 4 mins to a bus stop which both took us either to and from the airport or down towards fisherman’s wharf and the pier. We stayed in 22 with the trundle bed and it was perfect for the four of us. The wee tub was perfect for bath time! The breakfast every morning was lovely with a wide selection and fresh fruit and we appreciated the times of 7-11a in case we slept in or left early. The staff were all so friendly and Marty accommodated a late check out for us which gave us time to squeeze in a nap for our daughter before heading to the airport! We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful property- don’t forget to check out the gardens in back and the view from the roof top!
The B & B is in a beautiful Victorian House conveniently located in the Mission District. The Breakfast provided offered a variety of fruit, quiche, breads, cereal, and cold cuts. The owners upgraded my room to a larger room on the first floor which I greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend the Inn San Francisco
I had the pleasure of staying here for five days during a work conference. The staff, rooms, and service were incredible. The Inn has so much charm and beauty. Marty and Liza were lovely. I would definitely recommend The Inn San Francisco to anyone visiting.
Okay, seriously, The Inn San Francisco isn't just a place to stay; it's like a time machine disguised as an bed & breakfast. You walk in, and you’re instantly transported back over a century, getting a peek into the home of some seriously wealthy family. The victorian era mansion itself is a stunning, historic beauty.||I am obsessed with the decor. All the woodwork, rich textiles, period furnishings, and antiques are just next level—you can tell someone put insane amounts of thought into making this place look exactly true to its history. It’s beautifully taken care of, which is huge. They managed to keep that authentic, historic feel while still making sure the rooms have all the modern comforts you actually need (like amazing shower pressure!).||And the staff? Beyond incredible. I checked in later in the day, and Evelyn was just the best. She made me feel instantly at home, patiently waiting while I was stuck in an awe-phase just walking into the place.||But the real highlight was breakfast. I got to hang out with Marty, the owner, who I swear is my new best friend. We had the best conversation while I ate some super tasty pastries and indulged in their gigantic, fresh fruit spread. I learned he's owned the building for 30 years, and you can just tell how deeply proud he is of its beauty—as he absolutely should be!||I stayed in Room 20, and it was perfect. So cozy, totally clean, and perfectly taken care of. The bed was ridiculously comfortable; I got one of the best nights of sleep ever. And a major shoutout to the bathroom—it was well-equipped, and the hot water and pressure of the shower were absolutely amazing.||I absolutely cannot wait to go back. I’m making it a goal to try and stay in every single unique room they have, and, of course, to solidify my now growing friendship with Marty. This place is a genuine gem and a must-stay if you want a truly unforgettable experience!
