Kimpton Banneker Hotel by IHG

I had a good stay at the Kimpton overall. The hotel is nice, clean, and comfortable, though the shower water pressure could be better. The location is very convenient, and for the price, it’s a pretty good value. I booked the stay with a breakfast credit, which was very helpful. Just keep in mind the credit doesn’t apply to specialty coffee. That said, they do offer a complimentary drip coffee in the lobby for guests every morning until 10 am. There are a couple of downsides to be aware of. If you’re in a city-view room facing 16th Street, it can be extremely loud. Weekday morning traffic is nonstop with a lot of honking, making it hard to sleep in, and on weekends there’s a nearby church that rings bells multiple times. Another issue was the TV connection. it was very unreliable and seemed to cut out every 10 minutes, which was frustrating when trying to relax. Overall, a solid hotel with good amenities and a great location, but noise and technical issues may be a concern for light sleepers.

We recently stayed at the Kimpton Banneker and had a fantastic experience. It is a lovely boutique hotel with a perfect location for exploring DC—close enough to the action but with a sophisticated, intimate feel. The service throughout our stay was top-notch, but what truly stood out was the staff’s hospitality.||A special thank you to Gozde, the Le Sel restaurant manager, who went above and beyond to make my daughter’s birthday extra special. She made everything possible to surprise her and truly made us feel like valued guests. It’s rare to find that level of personalized care.

This hotel pleasantly surprised me in the most wonderful way—I’m absolutely delighted. I chose it for our family vacation mainly because of its location, but it exceeded my expectations in every way. What I loved most is that it’s a small hotel, which I truly appreciated. The rooms are very spacious; I stayed in a double room and was genuinely impressed by how large it was and by the beautiful view. The cleanliness is impeccable. The service was outstanding, especially from the ladies at the front desk. Everything is within walking distance along a lovely promenade. I would definitely stay here again every time.

During my recent stay at the Kimpton, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service at the front desk, especially from Fountain and Tiffany. From the moment I arrived, they were warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive to every detail of my experience. Their professionalism was matched only by their kindness, making check‑in smooth and every interaction afterward feel personal and sincere.Both Fountain and Tiffany went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed, offering thoughtful recommendations and checking in to see how my stay was going. Their positive energy set the tone for the entire visit and truly elevated my impression of the hotel. Because of their phenomenal service, I will not only remember this stay fondly, but I will also be recommending this Kimpton location to friends, family, and colleagues. They are a credit to the property and outstanding examples of what great hospitality looks like.

This was a good stay. The location is very good and close to a whole foods and restaurants and is safe enough to walk around. The hotel offers many amenities like a free drink as well as coffee in the morning. Rooms are spacious with nice touches like umbrellas and yoga mats. However, the TV had poor connection and the rooms are very loud. Thankfully they do have white noise machines which helped a lot! Overall, I wouldn't mind staying here again

I have mixed feelings for this restaurant as the rooms were well appointed in size, but the walls are quite thin. I could hear everything going on in the rooms next door and unfortunately led to a really bad two nights sleep. The breakfast is in the restaurant downstairs called LE SEL, location wise. It is a short bus ride to the main metro station that gets you to the airport if that’s what you need. I do, however thank the team for upgrading me and leaving me a very nice written card I can see their passion in service and willing to help the guests enjoy their time here.
