The Good Manor

Made a reservation months ago on Booking.com - it was confirmed by the hostel, and I was sent an access code and such. Fast forward to my trip - I arrive at the address listed. Photos match, so I know it's the right place. There's no keypad to enter the code I was given, so I can't get in. I tried to call the phone number listed, and it's disconnected! I tried emailing, and never got a response! I ended up having to cancel my booking and get a motel. However, Booking.com couldn't/wouldn't refund me directly without confirmation from The Good Manor, which they ALSO couldn't get in contact with. I don't know what's going on with this place, but if I'm not able to get a refund, I will be disputing the charge with my bank.

My GF and I were doing a 12-day tour of CA and stayed at Good Manor when we left 3 Rivers (the General Sherman sequoia tree) on our way to San Fran. We've stayed at a lot of hostels, in FL, GA, TN, NC, VA, WV, PA, CT, MA, NOLA, & DC; LA, San Fran, Lone Pine, Bishop, & Yosemite; New Zealand, Argentina, & Chile; and Halifax, Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto, & Ottawa. And THIS hostel is VERY NICE. Super clean rooms and kitchen, nice neighborhood, a block from a shopping area with lots of independent bistros and boutiques. The host was nice too, her name escapes me. FIVE STARS!

The check-in was online, very easy and practical. We were able to enter the quiet house with a code, but there was music playing in the background which was very relaxing. We found our room and explored the house. Everything was very nice and clean. Everything we could possibly need was prepared. We could use the utensils in the kitchen, we could drink coffee, there were spices, oatmeal, and instant pancake batter powder. The garden was very cozy and there was a cat there. Parking was free on the street. The only flaw was maybe the loud fan. But we would like to give 5 stars because we were very satisfied, we felt like we had arrived at our own house.

We came for Porch Fest. Wow what a cool spot. Thanks for letting us use the kitchen. Playing pool in garage. The kitchen is well organized for hostel vibes! All the equipment. Spacious and clean. Fun art and huge backyard. I came down from Oakland with my friend's band who played here for Porch Fest. (@Badcamper) The host was extremely welcoming!

We recently stayed at The Good Manor on our way to San Francisco and were quite pleased with our experience. The hotel exudes a homely and cozy feel, which made our stay very comfortable. Given the price, we felt it was worth it. Check-in was a bit tricky and took a little longer than expected, but once settled, everything was smooth. In the morning, we interacted with a lady who was very nice and helpful. We're not sure if she was an employee or the owner, but she made a positive impression by showing us where we could temporarily store our luggage while we walked to our breakfast place before checking out. Overall, it was a nice experience, and we appreciated the extra help and the warm atmosphere. We would consider staying here again if we find ourselves in the area.

Amazing hostel! Honestly one of the best I've ever been to (in Fresno of all places!) Hostel is in an incredible location just 1 block off of the min street of the Tower District, and is thus close to so many things in walking distance (food, shops, nightlife, etc). I had a car during my stay and parking out front was always available and simple. The property itself is super clean and has a neat vibe with plenty of rooms. I stayed in both the private room and dorms and enjoyed both. Plenty of space in the property to also work, if needed, as well as lounge and hang. Many amenities like laundry are also free, which is appreciated. The host who owns the hostel is also very friendly and hospitable to travelers. Prices are also very reasonable!! Highly recommend to everyone! Is the clear choice if staying overnight in Fresno

This was a really good stay and I am satisfied with the experience. Staff, cleanliness and the hospitality were top notch. It is such a good place to stay. It is close to the centre of town, so there might be liveliness as a part of the experience.... trains, people having a good time... you know if you are a light sleeper like me, so just bring your earplugs and you'll be fine ☺️ We had a good nights sleep.
