Wyndham Garden Wichita Downtown

It’s a good location. I needed to be downtown for my convention. But I wish the hotel had higher cleanliness standards. It was very dirty. The shower curtain was dirty. The gym… I don’t even remember the last time they might have cleaned it. The chairs and everything else were old. This hotel really needs a touch-up. But the price was okay, and it got me where I needed to be.

Let's start off with the positives, staff were very friendly, very helpful. The breakfast, while limited in selection, was pretty good. The bed was comfortable, bedding clean. We got two rooms, one for my partner and I, one for my sister and her son. Im so glad they got the better room. We were placed on the second floor and yet somehow our room smelled like a dank basement. Clear water damage on the curtains, tub faucet was leaky. We got air freshener for the smell, it lasted all of an hour. The bathroom light was broken and our tv had no channel access. Ive stayed in some run down places but at least they looked the part on the outside. This looked pretty nice just to be a terrible disappointment. My sister's mold allergies are now kicking her add and we still have 7 hours to drive today. Its not bad for a quick overnight but I wouldn't stay any longer than necessary.

Positive: The room was clean. Negative: A peephole in the door —a good way to I’d who is at the door-was not covered on the inside and the bed and the bathroom could have possibly been seen. Homeless people with a dog tied up we’re at the entrance close to parking.

My stay at this hotel was very comfortable and enjoyable. The staff was welcoming, and they made sure I had everything I needed. The room was clean, quiet, and well-maintained throughout my visit. I also appreciated the convenient location near local attractions. Great value for anyone looking for a pleasant stay.

Hotel is dated but you can tell they've been trying to make upgrades. Check in process online sped things up. Didn't need anything from the front desk but the guy at check in was just okay. Not rude but not friendly either. We slept in so didn't check out breakfast. But was definitely a lot nicer than I expected for the price and other reviews.

I stayed in a King room for two nights. The room is equipped with standard hotel amenities: a coffee maker, a TV, a microwave, and a minifridge. The bed was comfortable, and I had good sleep on both nights. The wash basin has a wide mirror, which I liked. The bath has hot water, and this is another case where I wish I had known there was a bathtub so I could bring some bath bombs and enjoy a hot bath. The hotel doesn't provide a free shuttle to the airport, contrary to what the website says. However, it does offer free breakfast and free parking. The breakfast is decent, and there is also coffee 24/7. There are a couple of downsides if you're considering staying here: first, this is one of the cheapest hotels in the area, and the interior definitely shows it. There are a few unhoused individuals wandering outside the hotel, but I wouldn't say this is the hotel's problem – seems like downtown Wichita is pretty dead most of the time. The room's sound insulation is disappointing; this is partly because there is only a narrow aisle between two neighboring rooms, and anytime someone talks outside the door or opens and closes it, everything can be heard. This is certainly a case of "you get what you pay for." For an economical stay, this hotel offers good value for money. If you are looking for more, you should consider staying somewhere else.

There were several problems with the room upon check in. 1. The door would not securely close without a lot of effort 2. The wall by the bed was really dirty- dried chunks of something. 3. There was food left in the fridge. 4. The shower drain was slow causing a several inch deep pool to form during the shower. I got a text upon check in welcoming me and asking that I let them know if they can help. It took more than an hour for a response and then it was only the food in the refrigerator that was addressed. It was clear from all of our interactions during the 4 night stay that the hotel was not staffed appropriately overnight. I gave the staff the opportunity to address the concerns the next morning- and to be fair they did move us to another room which did not have the same issues. It was clean and everything functioned satisfactorily. The AC was noisy and smelly when first turned on but after it ran for a bit it settled down. This hotel is listed as a 3 star. I think that is not accurate. This is a very good TWO star hotel. The facility is a little run down. Lots of wear marks on furniture, walls, elevators etc. It is clean (after moving to the new room) and quiet and the beds were comfortable. The price definitely reflected the quality. If listed as a Two star hotel it would have been within expectations. Breakfast was standard but it was exactly the same each day. They are using propane space heaters in the space so the lobby always has a bit of a weird exhaust smell to it. Housekeeping did NOT come at all during our stay. There was no policy listed so I don't know if that was intentional or not. We did end up running out of toilet paper and toiletries so it would have been nice to have the room stocked at least once in our 4 night stay. The neighborhood around the hotel is sketchy. There were a lot of people walking around seemingly unhoused. I was solicited for money more than once. That being said there were not any safety issues and the proximity to downtown and the Century II convention center was OUTSTANDING.
