Rooms were nice, hotel clean and well kept. Exceptional service checking in. Great pool bar experience during our stay. Kinsi was friendly, attentive, and made excellent drink recommendations. She remembered our orders, checked in at just the right times, and kept everything running smoothly. Her service really elevated our pool day and made us want to stay longer. Would absolutely hope to be served by her again.
Perfect in every way. The rooms were newer and functional. Electric tea kettle was appreciated, our room has a Toto washlet, and bed was so comfortable! Staff was very nice from housekeeping, to front desk, and valet. Very clean and the filtered water available on tap was so nice.
I'm not one to complain, but this hotel was just a big no for me. You definitely get what you pay for & my stay here put a damper on my Hawaii trip. It wasn't completely horrible.", however, the rooms are literally TINY. I have traveled the world & never been in a room that small. Secondly, housekeeping only came to our room once. We had to keep going to the front desk begging for towels. The location was excellent, but there are many other better options in the area. The room wasn't really as clean as I would've liked & extremely dated. The pool bar was very lack luster. The staff was nice, but the manager was welcoming at all. I wouldn't recommend this hotel... splurge a little & stay somewhere nicer.
I would never stay here again. The rooms are small we had a deluxe king. It has a small wardrobe for clothes, there are no draws and no storage for suitcases. The room we had was at the front of the hotel on level 3 and it was so noisy and above the smoking area so being on the balcony wasn’t very not very pleasant. The only view we had was of the hotel across the street hallways and some apartments. The pool is very cold and good luck getting a drink from the pool bar they are either not open when they are meant to be or if you go down at 4:30 and ask for a drink you are told they are no longer serving (even though they are open until 5:00). We got told to head down to the bar down stairs which was open as it opened at 5:00. The bathroom is also very small with no storage and the towels do not dry. It is also no longer an adults only hotel but not all websites are updated with that information. Check in is slow and you have to pay $100 per night deposit which they take the resort fees from at checkout. The $100 per night is ridiculous and not necessary, they should only be taking the resort fee charge. Due to the rudeness of the pool bar attendant we refused to spend any money within the hotel and we will never stay there again or recommend it to family and friends.
I decided last minute "me time" and stayed at Romer House for 3 nights. Room was clean & comfortable. Breakfast was tasty & fulfilling. The best part of Romer House was the front desk staff. Great customer service skills and friendly face that greeted me by my name. Their hospitality made me feel like home. Highly recommended and will be back again next "me time". And of course, nothing beats its location!
I stayed at Romer House in Waikiki for about a week. The location is great and the staff were generally friendly. A few days into my stay, I noticed multiple small brown bugs crawling across different pillows in my room at night and recorded a video. They definitely looked like bed bugs based on their appearance and behavior. When I brought it to the front desk, I was told it probably wasn’t a bed bug and might have been a baby roach, which honestly wasn’t very reassuring either. They did move me to another room right away, which I appreciated. Later, I was told the room was inspected and came back negative for bed bugs. That said, given what I personally saw across several pillows, I’m not convinced the inspection was thorough. It didn’t feel like the urgency matched the situation. In both rooms, housekeeping was inconsistent. The carpets didn’t seem to be vacuumed properly, and I found long hairs in different areas, including on the towels. After dealing with a pest issue, cleanliness becomes even more important, so that was disappointing. They did offer drink credits and waived some resort fees, which I appreciate. Overall though, while the hotel has potential, I think there’s room for improvement in housekeeping and how serious concerns are handled.
I booked through expedia and was nervous because of the "$500 fee" reviews but did not run into this issue. Expedia did show there would be a hotel fee I’d need to pay on-site + $55 daily parking fee for the car we had (for 5x nights) so it did come out to $500ish but was something I was expecting to pay. This is a boutique type hotel and found the rooms spacious, we had a king bed no balcony. The walls are somewhat thin IF people let the door slam you will hear it but otherwise only heard out neighbors once (sounded like something hit the wall). Staff was very friendly and we got the breakfast included which we found worth it ($66 for 5 nights for two), highly recommend the Sando sandwich, Mochi pancakes and French toast. Location is PRIME you cannot complain about it, next to the mall, shops and restaurants and the river walkway that is cute to walk through in the mornings.
