I stayed in Room 207. It was well equipped for my needs; Free Wifi, full kitchenette (microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment, over, hob), comfy sofa and pull-down bed, lamps and TV. Everything was perfectly functional although the textured wall and ceiling could do with an update and the premises shows signs of wear 'n' tear. The air-con is small but effective, though it generates a lot of noise. The bathroom vents were open during my stay, which allowed the outside heat, humidity and noise in, so it's not the quietest of properties. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. ||Location-wise, the property is within easy walking distance of several shopping malls and a good selection of dining options. It's also a short 8-10 minute walk from Waikiki Beach. There are several bus stops outside the property, and the sightseeing bus operators are two blocks away. ||I believe Kuhio Banyan Club is a great option for travellers who value being close to the action whilst on a tight budget. Sure, you can be closer to the beach and have a little more luxury for $60-100 more per night but it serves as a great self-catering option in the heart of Waikiki for those on a modest budget or who want to spend that money on what Waikiki has to offer instead.
Positive: Location, walking distance to the beach, restaurants around the hotel is just hop away. International Market is just across the hotel. Negative: None
The room was a bit noisy at night but airplug blocks all of it. This place do not provide complimentary toothbrush, toothpaste or shampoo, but they are really easy to find in the ABC store right across. Jessi from front desk reception was especially welcoming and helpful! We were offered baggage storage, beach equipment rental and washroom access after checking out before we depart which was really convenient!
Very nice stay, it is noisy so bring earplugs. But we checked reviews before arriving so we knew that would be an issue. The hotel is very accommodating, they provide various rentals, such as towels, boogie boards, umbrellas and chairs for the beach. There is complementary ice, and the kitchenettes were very convenient. Many food places nearby, and the beach, overall amazing!
The staff was very friendly and helpful! Do listen to the other reviews about the night club, we were very tired after long days and slept through the sounds for the most part but if you weren’t super tired it would be hard to fall/stay asleep! The room was very clean and there were plenty of mirrors to get ready in( a plus for me lol!) The shower has a small window above it (I’m assuming to help with moisture) but you can’t see through it. The shower head won’t move and so shaving or being out of the water while in there is almost impossible. The natural feel to the bathroom due to the window was actually nice and felt tropical but if you didn’t close the door then the room wouldn’t cool properly. The walk to the room is also a little sketchy feeling but once you’re in the room it feels nicer. The bed wasn’t super comfortable but if you brought your own pillow that could fix that. Really centrally located to get food- but we found we don’t love being right in the city but if you do this is the place for you. Overall a good hotel if you’re really on a budget and want to see Oahu. I personally wouldn’t stay here again due to location factors (personal preference) noise levels & comfortability. If you’re someone who just needs a place to sleep but still likes things to feel clean this is a good hotel to stay at.
Central to Waikiki, across of International Marketplace, 5-10 min walk from the beach. If you're looking for luxury, this ain't it. Need take some time to find free parking along the Ala Wai or the side streets, or pay for parking some where else. Rooms are old but charming. If you're trying to stay as cheaply as possible and plan to walk or Uber, this is your place! Has a kitchenette and seating area, when the Murphy bed isnt down. Id stay here again if I were trying to save money.
Manager "Jesse" was hateful to me when I asked why they did not have a working phone number as I was locked out for awhile. The staff also took offense to us asking for extra towels. Overall they are very rude, never even left a bad review before. Nice spot in regards to the nightlife and city but would not recommend staying here.
