It took them one hour to check us in because they "could not find my reservation" booked through Priceline even though I gave them my confirmation number and my ID. |I found 8 big flying roaches half alive in the room and bathroom. |There were no bedside lamps, the wall had white patches that needed to be painted.|I could not wait to get out of there. |The AC unit was extremely loud.

The Monterey is one of Padre’s original treasures, thoughtfully brought back to life by owners who truly care. Everything is spotless, peaceful, and welcoming you can feel the pride and kindness in every detail. The staff are professional, down-to-earth, and genuinely good people. It’s the kind of place that deserves great guests and earns them.

This place was perfect and affordable for a mom with kids. We stayed in the room with three queen beds for 4 nights and rented a beach cart next door at Beach Bum rentals. The room was clean,beds were comfortable and the a/c was freezing cold. The room and beds have been updated since the pictures showing online. There is one grill outside that you can use if not in use. The towels weren’t great but I brought a big bag of my own along with a broom because it gets very sandy real quick. I would definitely stay again.

If you’re looking for a hotel that literally only has the primary necessities (bed, AC, shower, fridge, and microwave) then I’d highly recommend this place! The hotel was rather cheap considering its closeness to the beach and local restaurants. Bed was soft, no bed bug issues whatsoever! Things were a little run down but I’m generally not picky about that sort of stuff. Will definitely come back to this place whenever I drop by this area again.

This is definitely not the Hilton, if you are looking for amenities, this is not the place for you. If you want a place to shower have cold A/C and a clean room with clean towels and sheets on a comfortable bed, this place works. The nice young couple running the motel are accommodating and very friendly. We asked for extra pillows and towels they were provided no problem. The beach is very close by and plenty of places to eat and shop if needed. We will stay here again.

Had a great stay at the Monterrey Motel!! It's not the Ritz, but the room and beds were clean and comfortable 😄 our room had a microwave and full size fridge, which was awesome! The location is fantastic, sooooo close to the beach 😍🏖️ the staff were friendly and helpful😊 All in all, definitely will stay here again and would recommend to anyone looking for a simple and clean place to crash after a fun day at the beach 👍👍

Our room was just fine! 2 king size beds, with clean and chrisp white sheets. We had a new flat-screen TV that was Roku/Firestick compatible. The young couple who manage the place are quiet but very friendly The motel to the beach was a 10 minute walk, or a 4 minute drive, and you can drive right onto the beach, park and set up your place on the sand. I look forward to booking my future stays here when on SPI.
