Bowers Hill Inn Chesapeake

The Bowers Hill inn is the most disgusting hotel I ever stayed at in my life you can hear the television in the room below non-stop through the night in another language. If you happen to get a room without bed bugs it's only because the roaches killed them. The train goes past the building every 3 hours shaking the building and blowing the horn.

I called to see if they had a deposit less than 10 minutes ago, the guy was very rude, he had a strong accent and got upset when I couldn't understand him. I would rather pay the extra deposit money for another hotel than waste my money here. There's no deposit for a reason...

Positive: Nothing it was the worst room I ever seen in my life.Dirty and disgusting. Negative: Everything was dirty,spider webs, cockroaches,mold, broken door handles,dirty sheets and pillows, dirty towels washcloths.

Booked this place online because I was traveling for work and my God it is 2am and I can't fall asleep. The room smells like mildew and mold, walls are dirty,floors disgusting, and overall just uncomfortable. I didn't expect much for the rate it was going for, but dam im human and deserve a clean place to rest. I booked on hotels.com and they helped me check out early with a refund. I am forever grateful for them. Don't stop here unless you don't care about yourself.

Room had some issues. Faulty toilet, rather hard to flush at points. You can tell maintenance has not been done in a while. Point where carpet meets the tile has broken staples. You can feel the sharp points, if you step in just the wrong spot. Shower kinda hard to operate with bathtub nob. Hotel Room door is a safety hazard. Door is visibly broken on the side. Door is really hard to open, and shut. Bed is almost hard as a rock. Service was lack luster. They don't have customer service skills. They speak a foreign language, but speak very little English. When I talked about the toilet, one older female foreign speaking staff member looked at me like I was too stupid to operate a toilet. When I came out of my room, and acknowledged my presence to an older foreign speaking gentleman, he just looked at me like he was uncomfortable. I think they are aware of the building issues, but don't acknowledge it. Atmosphere is not very welcoming. Location is right next door to a truck stop, so constantly hear the truck parking noise and when they leave.

I like to find the mom and pop shop type motels. Partly for the experience and as a small business owner to support them. Well this is just an old run down motel in need of a good upgrade. There was mold by the tub, the bathroom door is coming apart and the entrance door needs help. It's missing the security chain and the lock was hard to operate. It wasn't clean. The shower curtain had dirt on it. By the trash can the wall had shattered of something on it and the floor needed a good cleaning. Price was cheap at $60.00 plus tax. So don't expect much. On the plus side the a/c worked good. The beds were good and the shower was hot.

This hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere...lol...upon arrival the door locks were not working so we had to keep getting let in by the front desk staff who had an override key. Once entering the room the furniture was beautiful but would highly recommend they invest in new linen. The comforter and blanket both had burn holes in them and not sure when the last time was they have been washed. The carpet was unvaccummed and dirty. The bathroom was clean at least.
