I enjoyed my stay at The Jefferson Hotel, and my alligator friend Lily did as well. Upon arriving, I felt a sense of awe admiring the elegant nature of the building, and I found it to be fascinating to stay in a historic hotel. I appreciated the friendly staff, the cleanliness, and the amenities both in my room and throughout the hotel. My room was well furnished with a large tv, a mini fridge, multiple seating areas, and a spacious closet and bathroom. In addition, the hotel has two restaurants and a gift shop, which I enjoyed visiting. I chose The Jefferson due to its historic and elegant nature, as well as the possibility of it being haunted. I brought equipment with me that can allegedly detect and communicate with spirits; however, I unfortunately didn’t experience anything supernatural. While I felt disappointed that I did not have a paranormal encounter, I loved being able to stay somewhere that combines history and elegance!
I celebrated my birthday at The Jefferson in Richmond and the experience was truly exceptional from start to finish. The service was outstanding and every staff member we encountered was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. From the moment we arrived I felt celebrated and cared for in a way that went beyond standard hospitality. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning. The architecture, elegance, and atmosphere make you feel like you’ve stepped into something timeless and royal. Our suite was beautiful and comfortable and the entire property created the perfect setting for a special occasion. Even a short stay felt like a true luxury escape because of how thoughtful and refined everything was. The Jefferson didn’t just host my birthday, it elevated it into a memory I’ll always cherish. Highly recommend for anyone celebrating something meaningful or simply wanting an extraordinary hotel experience.
Our family took a Christmas trip to the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Virginia, known for its beautiful architecture and rich history.||Upon arrival, we were amazed by the stunning lobby, with its chandeliers, garlands, and festive decorations. After checking in, we enjoyed a delicious meal in the hotel’s restaurant. We started with a roasted beet salad and wild mushroom risotto, then had the traditional Christmas dinner with juicy turkey, stuffing, and sweet cranberry sauce.||In the evening, we learned about the hotel’s history from the staff while admiring the portraits of famous guests. This added depth to our visit.||That night, we returned to our cozy room, decorated for the holidays, and enjoyed hot cocoa while watching holiday movies and sharing our favorite moments.||The next morning, we had a relaxing breakfast with pastries and coffee. We visited nearby historical sites like the Virginia State Capitol and the Museum of History, adding to our experience of the city’s rich past.||Before leaving, we gathered by the grand fireplace, reflecting on our trip. We agreed that this Christmas was special, filled with great food, history, and wonderful family memories. As we left the hotel, we felt grateful for the magic of the holiday season.
Perfect location. Magnificent!
If you want an upscale place to stay in Richmond, then this is the place. The rooms are top notch, with all the amenities. If you’re hungry, the food is great. If you’re thirsty, the bar service is second to none. The place is absolutely beautiful. It’s a great location, with plenty in walking distance. Easy access from the interstate. I highly recommend them.
I don’t know that I’ve ever had such an overwhelmingly pleasant hotel experience. The Jefferson has perfectly nailed the juxtaposition of maintaining its historic beauty while offering updated features. The service was outstanding, and we loved the little touches of complimentary chocolates on a piece of cardstock with a fitting quote accompanied by evening turndown service as well as the gifted note cards imprinted with area architecture. Every detail has been considered; the room was well appointed; the soaker tub is a dream; towels were replenished regularly, and the in-room Nespresso was perfect for our first morning cup. We came for a quick overnight and chose The Jefferson for its walkability to a concert at the Altria Theatre, but we’re already anticipating our next (hopefully longer) stay. Worth a mention if you’re staying and looking for nearby restaurants: brunch at Perly’s (about a 10 minute walk). You won’t regret it!
We came here for the champagne brunch before Christmas. We've been here before to see the Christmas decorations but this time we had reservations for brunch. The hotel was beautifully decorated and classy and the wait staff were amazing! The chefs at the brunch/ carving and dessert stations, were exceptional! The prime rib was cooked to perfection and the shrimp was large and very fresh! They even had oysters on the half shell amongst many many more delicious brunch items! The Christmas decorations added even more charm to this gorgeous historical hotel. Come dressed to impress and ready for a five star dining experience! This will be a new family tradition for us.
