Bearfoot Inn

Owner of the establishment have us a very friendly welcome and showed us to our room. Explained how to operate the air conditioning and T.V. Gave us a key to our room and that would also give us access back to the establishment too. We were the only people there so it was quiet, which we liked. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately the pool did have quite alot of dirt on the floor. Probably due to the location it would make it hard to be clean 100% of the time. The shower floor could have been cleaner and the wine glasses in the room had been used and not cleaned when put back. I have to say that I would return back again. It wasn't completely a bad experience. Just needs to attention to detail.

The Room was great! The pool was clean and warm! The guests were a lot of fun! However the music they choose to play all day long is awful. It starts loudly at 8am. The first half is the day is pretty good new wave, but the second half is literally massage music. Nothing but pan flute and harps. When I’m trying to get in the party mood, that music does not help! The owners were also a little rude and kinda mean. They walk around 20 mins before check out to yell at you to hurry and get out and then every 5 minutes walked by to remind us again, it was very off putting. So if you can ignore all that then it’s a good place to stay!

Pros: The beds were comfortable and sheets and towels were clean. The scenery is amazing and the pool and hut tub are nice. Cons: The floors were very dirty, like they are poorly cleaned. They kick you out of your room to clean instead of coming back at another time. Everyday we came back from a long hot day in the desert they turned off the air conditioner so your room was hot and muggy. The refrigerator in our room was off and smelled awful. The manager is surly and has numerous rules guests must abide by and is not afraid to make passive aggressive comments, definitly detracts from the vacation if you are afraid you'll get yelled at. We were told we couldn't use the BBQ grill because it'd be to much trouble. He actually threatened our group that he wouldn't have the continental breakfast if we made to much noise at night.

Though the resort is visually very pleasant, the manager is not. We were chastised for leaving the jacuzzi jets on for example. 8 of the 10 guests we spoke with reported unpleasant run-ins with the manager. One guest mentioned he wanted to have a friend visit and was told there would be a $10 "day use" charge. To use the barbecue required a $20 clean-up fee. There are MANY gay resorts in Palm Springs and though this is off-season and we stayed mid-week, the resort was only half-full and I'm sure the surliness of the manager contributed to this lowered occupancy. My partner and I are older, quiet, respectful and polite but were told we didn't need to come back by the manager. He complained about the electricity bill yet the water must have been heated to 180 degrees! When I mentioned he could cut back on the temperature of the water heater he responded that that was his way of keeping people out of the shower. We have stayed at several resorts in Palm Springs and never experienced the rudeness and total lack of hospitality we received at the Bearfoot Inn.

Actually didn't get to stay there. Made reservations in August for IBC at the end of February. Got an email yesterday refunding my deposit and informing me that the Inn was sold and the new owners had the old owners cancel all reservations for Jan 1, 2022 on. It's impossible that the old owners didn't know they were selling and should have informed those earlier who had booked. The room rate was unusually low for an event weekend and I have a theory why. The old owners got the place all booked up by offering low rates so they could show prospective purchasers how well-booked they were. Then when the new owners discovered how low the rates were that were charged, they asked that all reservations be cancelled. Nice job screwing over lots of people, guys. Enjoy your retirement or whatever else you decide to do with yourselves.

Wonderful piece of Palms Springs History. Restored to a new glory. We had one night stay, but what a wonderful night it was. We had some relaxing time after getting a nice tour of the facility. The pool was warm and spotless. The hit tub was a wonderful addition to the beautiful evening sky. There were visitors from all over the world which made it for a wonderful conversation . We would definitely take the opportunity to return for a longer period. The location was close to all areas and a very easy drive to the airport.

Resort was pleasant and quiet. I really like the layout and room was nice. Owners had a short of supplies that were essential, toilet paper, towels. Feedback was not friendly but more like a reprimand... not happy with that at ALL!!!
