Extended Stay America Suites- Tacoma - South

Stay away! This is not even close to a 2.5 star property. I would have left but it was a non-refundable rate (thanks Priceline). My room smelled like fried food the entire week. Walls are thin and someone played their music all night long the entire week. Room was not touched - no new towels, beds not made, it’s as if housekeeping didn’t know the room was occupied. The neighborhood is somewhat sketch, but that seems to be the case for most of Tacoma, unfortunately. Grab and go breakfast is a joke. Two coffee options (no decaf) and hot water with tea bags - no decaf options. Generic individually wrapped muffins - 2 choices, and one variety of generic nutri-grain type bar. Oh, also instant oatmeal packages. This is the absolute worst place I’ve stayed in 50 years of travel. Not sure how this place has had so many positive reviews, but ignore them and stay somewhere else (outside of Tacoma)!

Dreadful. The elevator was broken and it appeared to be transitional housing. It would have been nice to know the elevator was broken before I brought my 80 year old relative there, who fell on the stairs. There was pet hair everywhere. It was very noisy. No ice machine because they have ice trays in the rooms. So 4 hours later you can enjoy a cold beverage. No lids for the coffee cups for the "grab and go" breakfast. The staff was excellent, but obviously overworked. They have a hard time keeping staff because of the broken elevator, and the the hallways/stairs weren't cleaned on a daily basis.

At first the stay here was a little rocky, the rooms were dirty and some of the staff was rude. But we stayed for the location and convenience. We eventually found a room that we love. Over time the quality of stay has increased and we're blessed to be able to stay here until we secure our next home. They are remodeling and the feel of the hotel is getting better. Just can't wait for the elevators to get fixed again! Thanks Extended Stay!

A very nice hotel with really comfortable beds and pillows. Although the one blanket was very light weight, it was still warm enough during winter with no heat on and the window open a couple inches for fresh air. There is a full size refrigerator a two burner cook top stove a microwave and a good size sink. They also supply pans utensils, plates bowls coffee cups tumblers and silverware. All good quality. Bathrooms are big enough with full size tub and adequate counter space. You can bring your dog too, I'm not sure if there is a limit for how many dogs you can have

Location is great, the staff was really friendly, & our room was clean. However, I booked this stay also because it advertised breakfast - which when I arrived, it was snack bars, muffins & coffee. I was there with my son for a sport event; I wanted for our family to be able to have a true Breakfast to start our days. Our room didn't coffee maker. The beds were only full-size. And most times we entered the hotel, we had to walk through a cloud of cigarette smoke since people were allowed to smoke just outside the front door.

First, as all other reviews say, the front desk we're very nice and helpful Now for the actual review Our house flooded and the insurance company put us in here first. The first night that I was here. I got off of work and took a shower by the time that I had went to crawl in bed two hours later. I noticed that the bottom of my feet were black. It seems that the rooms are not cleaned regularly. The tv was able to be moved and there was crumbs galore under it. Id say they change the sheets sweep and wipe down the tables focus on the toilet etc and move to the next room (That floor must have not been mopped for at least a month) So me and my girlfriend cleaned the room. I started noticing after a couple days that there were some very sketchy individuals around the hotel, and inside. At this point I decided to go and take a look at the google reviews for this place and that was enough for me. (IF YOU LOOK AT THE OTHER REVIEWS YOU WILL SEE WHY WE HIGH TAILED IT) We left the next day. I usually don't like doing bad reviews, but I just feel that people should know what they're getting into if they stay here. Location is very convenient As someone who has owned businesses, I would recommend the higher ups. Take a closer look at what they have going on here. So that the hotel could be worthwhile Extended stay i am not attacking you but man... you guys gotta do better. This was my honest review. I'd recommend elsewhere
