Vagabond Inn - Oxnard

I was happy to see the update rooms. They were really nice. The new TV's and the big and fluffy beds they were so comfortable. I did have an issue but thanks to the manager Anthony he fixed it for me. I was happy over all. And will come again like always.

This place is very mediocre but on the low end for pricing so it is what it is. There seem to be some long term residents. You'll find beer boxes from the prior nights parties. Some beer cans laying around. They do seem to be investing in the property though. Some rooms are renovated, the AC is a mini-split not the window type. The office is being worked on. The Continental breakfast is very lacking. The train didn't bother us. The staff were all very nice.

my stay here was pleasant, the property has a park in which we barbecued while also splashing in the pool. Staff was very helpful and informed. The new office manager was genuine and did the best he could to help. Rooms do need some updating though

Is an OK hotel, good for 2-star place. Breakfast was pretty lacking, though - they had a banana that had been left long enough that it had liquefied from age, and they didn't get rid of it between the afternoon we mentioned and late morning when we left. That said, bed was alright, shower wasn't bad, room had a fridge, AC unit worked, and rather liked the side table lights.

My stay here was about what I expected from a budget inn such as this. No complaints about the staff and service, but the rooms are very tiny. That being said, they have new-looking laminate hardwood floors and modern style, which is nice. I was annoyed by a half-empty bottle of beer that I found in our fridge when we checked in, made me wonder how thoroughly the room had been serviced, but everything else in the room seemed clean. This motel advertises a complimentary breakfast, but it’s just pre-wrapped snacks and a small assortment of whole fruits.

I agree with what someone else said on here. Sound proofing is very bad in this hotel. However, my experience had to do with cleanliness and customer service. I'll make it short: the sheets had small red stains right in the middle of the bed, and the room smelled like smoke. I was given another room, which was a different kind because they didn't have anymore rooms. I had to pay extra. Upon telling the manager the reason why I wanted another room he said, "I understand if this is not what you expected and you would like to cancel your reservation." Essentially saying, this is what you get, take it or leave it. Cherry on the cake was, two of the pillow cases in that other "nicee room with a jacuzzi" were also stained. I just threw them on the couch. Only reason I didn't leave was because it was past 11 PM, I had driven several hours, and apparently the strawberry festival was going on, so hotels were in high demand.

I am a female, who stayed alone for 4 nights. It was okay for the price. Its an old motel that needs an upgrade.There were lots of tenants from all walks of life but never did I feel unsafe. I arrived at 8ish in the PM and folks (kid/adults) were in the pool. Housekeeping daily. Great parking.
