Perfectly Authentic accommodations for the French Quarter. A guest house, not a fancy, marble and chrome hotel. I liked that it was a converted home with a courtyard. Clean rooms, clean bathrooms, excellent service. We only needed that and being right outside of the courtyard allowed my husband easy access to smoke. The location was in the heart of the French quarter which allowed family members to easily walk back to the room for a nap after lunch while others continued to explore. My kind of vibe of a hotel when I could feel the history of the place. We will definitely be back to this hotel. It's all we need. Great value. stayed Wed-Fri. (Also, got great tips from the front desk for free parking just a few blocks walking distance away if the garage is full - Marigny Neighborhood on the East side of Elysian Fields ave )

I was visiting NO for a night and wanted to stay close to Bourbon St and yet be a little far from it. This hotel proved just right for my requirements. Given how the parking situation is there, I was lucky that they had a separate parking garage, although it was a 15-minute walk from the hotel. It was a little inconvenient after an 8-hr drive but I could sleep well thinking that the car is safe and that I would not have to move it elsewhere early in the morning. I really liked the look and feel of the hotel room. I would stay there again.

The hotel is of course an old building. There is no phone in the room. There was a wonderful bathtub though. I asked for a ground floor room when I booked, but when I got there, they said they didn’t have a ground floor for me. The lady at the front desk with the purple hair was quite charming and friendly. They do have coffee and the fixings in the lobby. In the lobby for the guests There is a microwave. every room has a refrigerator. The air conditioner worked great. That’s one of my number one priorities. All in all, it was a great price for a comfortable room in the French Quarter oh, and I forgot the best part. Although there is limited parking and it’s over by Frenchman Street, it’s about a 10 minute walk only. The parking is free and you can park your car and not get in it until you leave the quarter but if you do go out, you are guaranteed your assigned space. We would definitely stay here again.

Room 201 has an amazing view, and then there’s the equally amazing patisserie across the street. Wake up, cross the street and get your breakfast treats and then sit on the balcony and enjoy. Location is also great for being within walking distance of EVERYTHING!

Loved everything the hotel offered. Balcony was amazing to sit out and enjoy the view, especially at night..the horse buggy rides by, it's very quiet and the entertainment is not overly done. The second line was pretty awesome to see. It reminded me of "the Originals". Loved it and will love to come back! Thanks for great service. Staff was awesome

Let me start by saying the Hotel Villa Convento has the most amazing staff. They are incredibly accommodating and friendly and treat you like family. Just two blocks from Bourbon Street and one block from Royal. You are just close enough to be in the party and far enough away to be away from the noise. We always stay here when we visit New Orleans and consistently recommend to our friends and family.

Also on Decatur on the same side but next block is Molly's for the best frozen Irish coffee (trust me you will want to keep coming back for this as a dessert) and for spicy New Orleans food, next to Molly's is Coops. And if you want Asian.. Zhang Bistro sits at the other corner. Best Roast Pork Lo Mein I have ever had. Seriously not your typical Chinese food.
