AC Hotel Gainesville Downtown

Lauren, Thomas, and Kyra were all phenomenal!!! My wife and I drove 6 hours from The Keys and we got in at 11pm. Lauren helped me on the phone during my trip up, upgrading us to a suite and always being bubbly and professional, despite me being tired from my trip. Kyra continued the same energy when we arrived. Mr. Marriott would be proud. My wife wanted a glass of red wine before bed. Thomas was nice enough to serve us even though the bar was closing. Kudos to leadership at this property for training the staff, holding them accountable, and rewarding them for execution of Marriott's highest standards. Please reward these three individuals, as they will be difficult to replace in this labor market.

We chose to stay at this hotel because of it's location to the Music College at UF. The check-in process was seamless and the room was spotless. We were tired in the evening and opted to order takeout at the lounge to eat in our room. The bartender was attentive and placed our order quickly. We were pleasantly surprised by the ribeye steak and the salmon. The salads and vegetables were also fresh and delicious. We would come again!

Rooms are spectacular, extremely clean. Love the design and pet friendly accommodations without sacrificing location and style. Plenty of space! No clutter in the rooms which I personally appreciate. I've already recommended the hotel to my friends and co-workers. I did not have time to eat or go to the pool. We got in about 2 AM and the front desk could have been a little more accommodating considering how late it was and how tired we were. I understand needing to see gov ID but she was very curt. She didn't ask if we had pets at check-in and when I brought them in she said sharply oh we have a pet fee. Yeah, I know that. Not trying to skip out on your pet fee but its 2AM, we're tired and just need to get ourselves and our 2 dogs in the hotel after working a full day, and 5 hr drive, then trying to figure out the parking situation.

It’s a great hotel in a great location in downtown Gainesville. Less than a mile walk to the stadium and the arena at UF. Great rooms with a luxury looking bathroom and super comfortable bed. Only drawbacks were $42 valet parking (no self parking), and the ice machine on floor 8 did not work. We also saw them lose a ton of business at the bar after the game on Friday night when the ESPN crew in town wanted food at 9:30pm but they cut off food at 9pm, even on weekends. The crew left and went elsewhere.

I cannot recommend this Marriott location. The rooms have a sterile vibe and are designed in a way where the AC is blowing on you all night. The lighting is painfully white and feels like a lab. The staff is fantastic though and very friendly. Unfortunate, too many good hotels in the area to go to this one.

Location was perfect. If you’re visiting campus, it’s a very close walk right across the street. The rooms were very clean and staff was friendly. The rooms are very noisy though. You can hear the elevator ding and people talking throughout the night, even down the hallway. Also, the bathroom door doesn’t feel very private. It’s a sliding door that was a little finicky to get it to close all the way.

Location is great if you’re visiting the university. This hotel is not as nice as it appears online. Looks very run through and is not better quality than the cheaper hotels in area. I probably wouldn’t book here again.
